Our party of four were lucky enough to be assigned to rooms 17 & 18, which had private outdoor terraces that overlooked the Alcazar Palace gardens. It felt like we had our own private garden with peacocks that we were able to enjoy each afternoon. The hotel location is tucked away in a quite area but close to all tourist attractions. Also, a Carrefour Express grocery store was 2 minutes away, which was super convenient. A big thank you to Laura and Maria at the reception desk as they were super helpful with sightseeing tips and bookings. We are looking forward to staying here again the next time we are in Seville.

Room tip: Rooms 17 & 18 come with private terraces

This was a great hotel in a beautifully converted casa, with all the amenities you could want. The breakfasts were delicious, the afternoon teas an unexpected treat, and the staff smiling and helpful. The hotel was in the wonderful old town, just around the corner from the Alcazar and Cathedral, both must see destinations

Room tip: our room was private and quiet, at the back of the hotel, but I think most would have been like this

The hotel was very well located in the old town and was great for walking and sightseeing the old town, as well as the other attractions in the city centre. The hotel was extremely quiet and peaceful - no vehicle or pedestrian noise. Our room was extremely comfortable, breakfasts were great, and the service from the staff was extremely friendly and efficient. Our stay at the hotel contributed greatly to a wonderful three days in Seville.

The Legado Alcazar is right in the heart of Seville's historic quarter, with the Cathedral and the Real Alcazar round a corner less than 3 minutes away.

As an establishment, it's relatively newly-established - a modern, stylish boutique hotel housed in a historic building. So historical, that our room had its own archaeological exhibit under a glass display in the concrete flooring - the remains of an old wall on the edge of the Alcazar gardens. It was a nice surprise when we were brought to our room just off the ground floor courtyard.

The hotel is on the edge of the Alcazar grounds, so some rooms (ours included) look out into a less-visited section of the royal Alcazar gardens. Our ground floor room had full-height French windows that opened out to the grounds – the view is fenced off with a green wall of plants for privacy. Guests can forget about leaping over for a free visit to the gardens as access is impossible - thick metal bars seal the windows.

So far so charming.

Not so charming however are the gardeners who start work at the crack of dawn on weekdays – our 2nd morning of 4 nights there was the end of a bank holiday weekend, and the sound of loud, beeping cherry-pickers with flashing lights, alarms and engines as the workers set about the daily upkeep of the place, was a bit of a shock.

We’d kept our windows slightly ajar for some fresh air, but this also let in some creepy crawlies (ok, a cockroach) from the garden. We returned him to the outside, but had to keep the doors closed thereafter.

The room was comfortable, modern and stylish but I’m not sure why the cleaning staff was so stingy with amenities like soaps and shampoos. Had to go out on 2 separate occasions for extra shower gel, when our tiny bottles were clearly empty. If the hotel wants to control this, perhaps it ought to install refillable dispensers instead? This was common in other hotels we’d stayed at in Andalucia and would certainly be a more environmentally-friendly option.

Our stay came with breakfast, and while it appeared to be varied at first – it got a bit disappointing. Juices didn’t seem freshly-squeezed, which the Spanish take pride in (the streets of Seville are lined with orange trees afterall), and there wasn’t a functioning kitchen with a cook.

There was the telling sound of pinging from a microwave as food was reheated, so we could only conclude that food was prepared off-site and brought in each morning to be assembled by the ladies who work at reception.

Service however was pleasant and helpful.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay in Seville - the hotel was functional as a good, central location to base ourselves.

Dear "explrdvr37",

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review regarding your stay at Legado Alcazar Hotel.

We are happy to know you enjoyed our location, but please let us answer all the points you mentioned,

All our rooms are different and unique. Your room, one of the most requested in the Hotel, has unique arqueological rests; a Superior room overlooking the Royal Alcazar, a UNESCO declared monument, specially protected because of its historical remains and gardens.

With more than 2.000 trees, the Alcazar Gardeners are in charge to take care of all of them, as well as the protected plants and flowers of the building. They are workers from the Royal Alcazar, not from our Hotel, but we are sorry if they disturbed you, usually the work in the evening and they do not make any noise.

The hotel has a wonderful location in the very centre of the city but without any traffic or noise nearby. There is only peace and nature around us.

All our rooms are equipped with Alvarez Gomez Amenities, a local and prestigious brand. We replace them every day in all our rooms, however we can provide you more amenities if you need them just asking at the reception. We do not use refillable dispensers for hygienic reasons. However, we are studing the possibility of having them in the near future as soon as sanitary authorities advice for it.
Our hotel is specially conscientious with the environment, we will soon open a special section at our website where you could check all the special decisions we took to be rewarded last year as the most sustainable hotel in Seville.

Our breakfast consists in “a la carte” menu in which you can choose among 10 different options with local km0 and fresh products always including coffee , fresh orange juice, seasonal fruit, yogurt as well as your two plates selection. Our reception team is always willing to help you taking notes of your preferences or food intolerances. Our chef prepares your breakfast choice in the moment you order it. We have a full equipped kitchen including a microwave in case our guests need to use it. We never took any prepared food as it is the opposite to pur principles, and this comment makes us specially sad because you could not appreciate it.

Thanks again for your comment. The opinions of our clients are always taken into consideration and help us to improve.

We hope to accommodate you again in the near future.

Legado Team

Just spent 3 night at the legado Alcazar whilst visiting Seville. We were there with friends to explore the city. The hotel was situated right next to the Cathedral and the Real Alcazar. It was a perfect spot to explore the city. The staff were all extremely friendly, booking taxis , restaurants etc, the Room was small but well appointed with a lovely bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was so quiet. We were on the ground floor in room 3 facing the grounds of the Real Alcazar palace. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend.
