The small size of our room kept me from giving it a "5". Otherwise being in the front with a balcony was very nice except when there were lots of people on the Plaza later at night. Bath was reasonably modern and clean with cabinet storage. Excellent location for restaurants, shopping and attractions. At check out we grabbed a cab in front to head to the bus station. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful giving us several suggestions for veggie friendly restaurants. The breakfast room is in the basement but still spacious and pleasant with a good assortment of hot & cold items. Only negative was weak coffee even using the bean machine.

Room Tip: Front can be a bit noisy but nice to have balcony - maybe a higher floor than 2nd?

Hotel Plaza Macia is well located in the old town. Our room was basic but very clean, comfortable and quiet. Don't drive to the hotel to unload in spite of advice given by the hotel. The hotel sign is at eye level beside the door and is difficult to spot while driving around the plaza. If you do drive in the old town, be prepared for extremely narrow streets and be sure to give your license plate number to the hotel so they can register it with the police -- otherwise a fine could be involved. It's best to use a car park and walk into the old town.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The service was great for the most part... Our bad experience with this hotel began at 2 am when I awoke to a very hot room. The A/C had shut off (room #103). I would put it on, and it would turn back off on its own. We ended up going to ask for help with this issue and the guy at the desk seemed to act like this was a common issue and gave us a new room to sleep in... well the A/C in that room barely worked. So starting your day after an awful night of sleep did not help with our experience in Granada. Also, I did not appreciate that the breakfast started so late! 7:30am is unacceptable considering if you take the bus to the airport to connect to Barcelona. You have to take the 7am bus! I paid for something that I was never able to use. I would not stay here again, nor recommend it.

The hotel is located on Plaza Nueva which is lined with restuarants and shops. Its also good access for visiting Alhambra either by local taxi or walking. Our room was comfortable with a balcony overlooking the plaza. We loved Granada and Hotel Macia Plaza helped make for a great stay. We would certainly stay here again.

Best location. Right at center of Plaza Neuva and easily gets you around by walking in major sites of interest. Taxi rank is right in front of the hotel. Get the rooms with exterior view, well worth the upgrade. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel toiletries were short. Room may be a tad bit small for family but okay for solo travelers.

Room Tip: get a room with exterior view and balcony, well worth it
