Stayed at Mellia hotels, many times- this hotel at least 6 Visits, This latest stay for 2 nights,,Arrived at the gated car park entrance to be met by a guard asking for booking details/ name and car reg number- Given a car parking ticket,
Large empty car park with only 2 other cars parked.
After checking in only to be told, They have now Started to charge £16 per 2 night stay car park charges, (nothing on the web site or booking form about these new charges)
which would mean over £50 added to your bill for a weeks stay.!
The Hotel as changed beyond belief, cost cutting everywhere - cheap and poor food
with very limited choice, Not possible to order a glass of wine with your evening meal only able to buy a small bottle ie- 1 1/2 glasses one small bottle of water- cost of £10.! As a member of Mellia rewards, This customer will not be spending another Penny with this Hotel Group, Such a shame but can only see this hotel going down the pan, I cannot be alone as with any business customers will vote with their fee.

Booked less than 48hrs before arriving for a short 4 day break.A bit anxious because of mixed reviews but can honestly say after being here at the end of our first day we are really happy with the hotel. We checked in at lunchtime with a very nice young lady who talked us through the hotel outlay and explained everything. We booked an upgraded room with sea view which we were delighted with. The room is spotless with a large and bright bathroom and loads of storage space. We have a great sea view here on the 6th floor with fabulous afternoon sun along with kettle, mini fridge , pool towels, beach bag, gowns and flip flops What more could anyone want ?
We are not AI so can not comment on that
Will tell you about breakfast after we've had it.Gorgeous outlook on seafront with direct access and security key for gate
The whole hotel area is beautiful and spotless and obviously a lot of effort has been put in by the staff.
If our few remaining days are as good ,we would not hesitate to come back

Dear fionagibbons,

Thank you for your excellent feedback !
We are so glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us and have a 4 days break you have been looking for.
The views of our hotel usually impact our customers due our location just in front of the sea.
We are looking forward to seeing you next year or maybe before 2018 ends for another break.
Kind regards,

Rooms are very basic, they used the cheapest materials they could find, no water pressure in the bathroom, barely any hot water. It seems they spent most of their money on the exterior of the building. Same goes for the breakfast, cheapest ingredients possible. Orange juice is concentrate with water, coffee is instant coffee mixed with hot water. Even for €65 including breakfast not a good deal.

We stayed here for 7 night all inclusive 2adults, 2 children age 8 and 5. The hotel is a 10 minute drive from the airport. First impressions were good - the hotel is spotlessly clean and the reception staff friendly and informative. We had booked a family suite with sea view. The room was plenty big enough for the 4 of us and had a double bed one side of the room and two singles the other side. Had a flat screen tele, a big wardrobe, a dressing table and a mini fridge. The bathroom was huge with an over bath shower, 2 sinks, big double mirror etc. We had a double balcony overlooking one of the pools and the beach. No problems with the room.
There are 2 massive lagoon style pools which are used for various pool activities, both for adults and kids, the activities run several times a day and looked enjoyable. We didn't take part as preferred simply playing with our kids in them and having a swim. There's a fairly large pool out the back of the hotel which most the adults seem to use, no pool inflatables are allowed so this pool is obviously the preference for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle. There's also 2 kids pools, one being a really shallow pool suitable for babies and toddlers, the other one slightly deeper but again shallow enough for toddlers to play in. There's a little splash park with three toddler slides in and some sprinklers. Great fun.
There is a problem with people reserving sun beds but you get this everywhere. We personally always managed to find one near the kids pools and by 2oclock lots of people go for lunch so some sun beds do become available. There was always plenty available all throughout the day by the other pool round the back (the quieter pool).
We found the food to be the best we've ever had at an all inclusive... and we've been to a few! The choice of food is phenomenal. There's literally everything available at breakfast, full cooked breakfast including omelettes, loads of different pastries (even donuts!), big selection of fruits and yogurts, hams, cheeses and lots of types of bread, cereal etc. The themed nights are great, while we were there, there was a sushi night with seriously the biggest selection ever! We really enjoyed the kebab night and the night they had the ribs! There's always plenty of fish options, always a couple of types of meat being grilled, along with different types of vegetable dishes, potatoes, risotto etc. The salad bar is pretty big, lots of choice there. Then there's the "kids" bit, where they serve pizza, burger, hot dogs, chips, nuggets etc. Not very healthy but good to have some choice for the fussy eaters. This is the same food they serve at the snack bar which is open 11-18:45. A good tip is rather than buy ice cream, if you're all inclusive you can get them from the snack bar for free. Good choice of ice cream too including sorbet. Oh also the puddings are pretty amazing too. The kids loved adding whipped cream and a variety of Enumbers to their cookies!!
The variety of all inclusive drinks was OK. Good if you're not that fussy with your wine! Gin and tonics nice although I'm not sure they add any tonic! Very big spirit measures! The Malibu wasn't included which was disappointing but I stuck to the pina coladas which were tasty. The kids can get crisps for free too on the all inclusive.
The kids clubs loved really good, you always see them doing activities with the kids round the pool and hotel grounds, and they took part in the lion king show which was pretty cool.
The shows are a must see! The little mermaid and the lion king were actually amazing and much better than I imagined they'd be. The magic show was good too. All worth a watch. They have live music round the back of the hotel near the pool if you prefer that type of thing.
There's an arcade room inside the hotel which is fun and the games aren't expensive. Around €1 each. The go karts are €2 per go and last around 5 minutes. The kids really enjoyed this. There's a laser room which is around €30 for a family of 4 - it looked great but we didn't bother.
Most the staff are polite and they all work hard.
All in all we would recommend this hotel to all our family and friends - definitely suited to those with children! My kids had a lovely holiday! Thank you sol principe!

My husband and I returned in September for a 10 day all inclusive holiday. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent just across the road from a lovely beach and a short walk to shops and restaurants. The big disappointment was the resturant, short staffed long queues for food which was very repetitive overcrowded a free for all to get a table not my idea for a nice evening meal. Sadly would not book this hotel again.
