Stayed here for 3 nights in early May to celebrate my wife's birthday and it turned out to be a wonderful weekend. We flew to Malaga then caught the train from the airport to Torremolinos, a short walk and a big flight of stairs brought us down to the Melia. It is situated right on the sea front in a lovely quiet position. Check was quick and efficient, the clerk even noticed it was my wife's birthday. The hotel is beautifully appointed and spotless. Our bedroom was very nice and comfortable and even though it was a standard room it had a sea view. Breakfast was a very extensive and excellent buffet. The lounge/bar is excellent with good service and reasonable prices. The terrace and pool area seemed quite small but there were never many people around and there was more than enough space and sunbeds.
Across the road there are a number of excellent beach bars, try La Cabana for a leisurely lunch, and it is a nice stroll along the promenade to the La Carihuela district with its many Spanish fish restaurants for dinner.
The most pleasing thing about this hotel were the excellent friendly staff who were a credit to the hotel and made sure we enjoyed a wonderful weekend. Our only problem was the stay was too short, which means we'll have to come back again.More
