Arrived at the barcelo on Sunday 8th March for my birthday...i was so excited..however the room wasn't ready so we decided to sit near the pool area in the glorious sunshine..After about 30 mins it was ready..so we went up to our room..it was lovely..the room was so nice..and the bed was huge..we decided to unpack and then had a look around...everything was just so nice and peaceful...so come teatime we thought we would go and find somewhere to eat in the town..well!!...it was quite a long walk..and all uphill..be we didn't mind that..when we decided to go back to our room..it was another long walk..but all downhill..so not too bad..got into our room to be met with what sounded like an 18 to 30s holiday..the noise was unbelievable..but thought 'it's our 1st night's so we won't say anything..as it actually stopped about 9pm..we had such a peaceful night after that..and a good night's sleep..woke up the next morning and went down for the most amazing breakfast..all that fresh fruit and plenty of veg was my idea of heaven..looked across the restaurant and saw about 30 young men..all in football kits..we thought..thats where the noise came from..but never thought anything else..as it was a new day..Had a lovely day in all that sunshine..and for the next night it was lovely and quiet..But the following night it started again..foot stomping..loud music..singing..chanting..chairs being dragged along the floor..1 hour we put up with it..but after that..couldn't stand it any longer..went to complain at reception..then a guy came to my room to see what the problem was....i thought..can you not hear that..anyway..he must of gone to the rooms..cos they turned it down...only a little mind you...but eventually it went quiet for about 10pm.it was a good job that some other guests came out and complained too..we noticed in the morning that these footballers were on the other side of the hotel away from the other guests..but the way the hotel is..it vibrated all around the hotel so I should imagine that all the guest would of heard it...SO...would we go back again..probably not..there was no apology or any kind of acknowledgement to say they would not allow that kind of behaviour in the future..such a shame..as it was a lovely hotel..perfect for the golfers as it was situated next to a golf course

We were very impressed with the hotel, and especially the rooms. 60 sq meters of pure luxury and comfort. Tip: bring some instant coffee, because the only supply ONE packet of coffee for the in-room coffee maker per visit, so if you don't want to fight with your wife over who gets to drink that ONE cup of coffee, bring your own.

First the many positives. Just got back after 8 nights at the Barcelo. Very impressed with the size and cleanliness of the room and bathroom. I don't think it was dated at all and the view across the golf course and mountains from the 3rd floor was lovely as was the size of the balcony. From our entry to exit the staff were lovely, attentive when needed but unobtrusive when not. The pool was not open due to the time of year but looked very nice and the communal areas were good. Parking was 15 euros a day under the hotel but there is on street parking just opposite so, unless you have mobility problems would not bother with underground. This is not a central hotel so hire car is a must. Costs about 20 euros to get into Marbella by taxi or Uber.
The disappointments. Mainly the food, we were half board. Salad and fruit were good but the hot meats not great, bit bland and occasionally not hot enough. No drinks of a night without charge (eg coffee machines turned off).
Overall really liked the hotel but I think if I visited again it would be on room only basis. Only lost the 5 star on the overall food standard and variety but I guess we are not in peak season and this may be a variable thing.

I opted for Barcelo after a great experience at Barcelo Madrid. Unfortunately, Barcelo Marbella has no relation at all. The hotel needs some updating, the hallways are very noisy. The cleaning team are also quite loud when doing the other nearby rooms. When we arrived, the TV channels did not work and the bidet had only very hot water. They managed to fix the TV and the water temperature, but then we found another issue... the AC doesn’t work during March... the cooling towers apparently are turned off after 7pm because they presume that the outside temperature at night is cold enough. We set the thermostat at 19 Celsius degrees but the room was at 23 degrees all the time... we had to sleep with the balcony door opened.... all the noise and the morning light coming in. Not an experience we would like to repeat.

Rooms are having bad air condition, staying here in March was warm during night. Will imaging horrible in summer. The balcony on the rooms need New wood. And Will break easily if kids lean into it. Internett had bad signals in most part of rooms.
