Description: This emblematic wine cellar built in an old house from the 18th century is a meeting place for people of all ages. It has welcomed many generations of artists, flamenco dancers or politicians. It is named after formerly popular city figures called 'los pimpis', young people who had helped ship crews or passengers and had become the first city guides. It is furnished in the style of Malaga, and offers local wines and delicious gastronomy which is very popular in the city. The soul of the restaurant is the lounge with the vintage wine barrels, signed by famous people, such as the family Picasso, the painter Barcelo, the bullfighter Cordobes, The Duchess of Alba, Carmen Thyssen and Antonio Banderas, who show the historical value of this place. This establisment is in the old town of Malaga, next to the Museum Picasso, La Alcazaba (the Citadel of Malaga) and the Roman Theatre.

We ordered tapas, didn’t get all our dishes, and the once we got weren’t really tasty either. The calamares where super oily, and soft, and not crispy at all. And the sangria wasn’t impressive either. The bocadillo was ok.

What I did like tho; was the sweet dessert wine they had. Almost like a liqueor. And the cosy environment; a huge restaurant with only happy waitresses and barrills with famous spanish people’s signatures.

The food was excellent , the location superb and the service was swift but a little impersonal , I got a factory feeling about it . You will have to arrive in time because it is the place to be in Malaga : only between 17.00 and 19.00 is it possible to find a seat without any waiting time . After that and before that is it nearly impossible . But you can always have a drink at one of the bars inside . I would consider it again , I enjoyed having dinner there .

We've visited a couple of times this week. Great atmosphere in street level bar and the 1 above it (there are several bars and restaurants in a large building).
Staff are great.
We weren't keen on oxtail tapas (not much meat) but had chicken meatballs yesterday, which were light and tasty.
Definitely 1 to visit.

We tried to have breakfast here it was an unforgetably lousy experience ! The omelette and Spanish omelette arrived cold. Both were then heated probably in microwave and tasted accordingly. Gluten free bread was heated in microwave with the plastic rap??? Tuna was straight from.a can. Such a terrible experience will never go back

The terrace outside has a nice view of Roman ruins; its lively. Go for a drink, sweet wine and the atmosphere rather than food as tapas elsewhere were much better.
