We stayed in Los Romanes for 2 weeks recently. Yes this restaurant is in Los Romanes NOT Vinuela !. We ate here 5 times in that time. One Tapas lunch (wish we'd had more) and 4 dinners. Each visit seemed to get better than the last. It culminated in us both having a 'special'. Something they called a 'Veal Chop'. Let's just say it's not a chop. Think large part of a very large dinosaur. Something the size of what Fred Flintstone gets at the beginning of the Flintstones titles. Its was a slab of meat about two inches thick and filling the plate. They even had the cheek to serve it with a side plate of fries for us to try to eat as well ! Needless to say the fries were virtually untouched as eating the most succulent and tasty 'chop' we've ever had was sheer heaven and totally filling. You just had to hold the knife against the meat and it virtually cut itself, so tender was it. We're back in Los Romanes in September. I know where we will be eating, possibly every day. Working our way through the menu. The house red is also VERY drinkable and only 8.50 a bottle in June 2015. It's a locally sourced granache/syrah blend. We returned to what we thought was our favourite Spanish restaurant for a meal while we were here. (Table Mountain, near Comares). It was still very special, but El Charco knocks spots off it !. I would recommend booking El Charco, especially for a Thr, Fri and Sat night. Roll on September. It can't come quick enough.
