Ok this is partly our fault. If you turn up on a beach where nobody is surfing on a part of the coast whete nobody is surfing then you shouldn't enquire about surf lessons. But a good school would point out your error and test your interest in something more suitable. The less reputable will provide ill fitting wet suit and boots and attempt to teach surfing on a little spit that generates marginally suitable waves. The instruction consisted of an initial briefing and two hours tepeating the same thing with no direction or feedback. Avoid.
