Not the best location, but taxis are easy, The rooms are all themed on a city and are all very tastefully finished. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were also very nice with a lovely pool area. We had a very pleasant stay.

Really superb small hotel. As others have said an oasis of calm on a bustling coast...We stayed for a 3 night break having chosen the hotel from the reviews on here. I cannot praise the hotel or the owners highly enough. It is a true boutique hotel with beautiful and tastefully decorated individual rooms. We stayed in "Berlin" which had comfortable half canopy bed frame and a lovely bathroom with a bath and shower over. All the usual mod cons including a mini bar, air conditioning, fridge and safe are available in the room. Fresh towels, complementary toiletries and quality bed linen better than a lot of larger hotels. A lovely touch was the turn down service at night which is lacking in so many hotels these days. We had a delightful small, sunny private terrace and it was a lovely area to sit and read or chat. Jean Paul and Axelle were both welcoming and helpful with nothing too much trouble for them. Towels were available for the sun loungers by the pool and they were attentive without ever being intrusive. Breakfast can be taken wherever you prefer and is plentiful and fresh. Axelle was able to show me some of the other rooms after others had checked out and there really is something for everyone. The ones overlooking the garden either open out via their private terrace to the gardens or have steps leading down. The larger rooms could comfortably accommodate a young family for example. The pool is not chlorinated, instead salt water is used, which is much kinder to the skin and much less drying. There is the possibility to book several different treatments to be taken at the hotel such as massage via an outside professional and also a hairdresser is available to book. We will definitely return to this delightful hotel and would have loved to have been able to stay longer. Well done Axelle and Jean Paul for making your dream come true and sharing your vision with others so perfectly.

Room tip: Check out the website and chose according to your requirements :)

We were only able to spend one night (fortunately it was mid-week as they normally have a 2-nite minimum) but it was truly enjoyable. Owner Axelle was most welcoming and the place was charming; it consists of 9 rooms (some upstairs) each decorated differently so you can select your "style" preference. We had selected the Deauville with its own little private patio - very nicely furnished and decorated in blues, with all the necessary amenities. Despite the hotel's location between bustling Marbella and Estepona, it was an oasis of calm and quiet, yet very close (5 mins. stroll) to the beach. Several restaurants with outdoor dining patios were on the beach, in either direction. The Barranca where we ended up offered excellent, fresh seafood. Axelle had also recommended Heaven, in the other direction.

Because it was cool, we opted not to remain on the beach and returned to the more sheltered swimming pool at Al-Ana. Axelle explained they don't use clorine, rather all natural products to keep the pool sanitized. In any case, it was beautifully landscaped, quiet, and a most relaxing area. That night we enjoyed one of our most quiet nights in Spain. There were no other guests but our room had noise/light shutters so we would likely not have heard much anyway.

Axelle is knowledgeable about the area and suggested the El Ancla Restaurante for dinner; we took her suggestion and enjoyed a very nice seafood dinner right at the edge of the beach.

The following morning we were offered an outstanding breakfast with eggs made to order, meats, breads/pastries, fresh OJ, and excellent coffee. (Axelle lets you select whatever time you wish breakfast). We had looked forward to having breakfast in the garden or on our patio, but that morning it was raining so Axelle set a table in the lounge area for us. Very classy and most enjoyable.

I actually looked for something to "criticize" but could find nothing except perhaps it would be nice in the Deauville to have a little bigger shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.....but this is really the most negligible of "flaws".

This property is relatively new, as Axelle and her husband purchased the property in 2009 and spent 2-3 years refurbishing it. They have done a remarkable job and created a true oasis amidst this bustling tourist area. If you are staying anywhere in the Marbella area, this is the place to book.....classy, quiet, relaxing yet near the beach, restaurants, golf, nightlife and local attractions. Once the word spreads about Al-Ana, no doubt you'll need to book well in advance. We only wish we had been able to remain at the Al-Ana longer and will definitely return if we are in that area again!

Room tip: There is no "bad" room here. It just depends on the décor and location you prefer. I don't think you can make a mistake with any room choice.

This hotel is a wonderful place owned and run by the most welcoming & helpful Axelle & John-Paul. The service and facilities are of a very high standard and the breakfasts are excellent with the most flexibility ever encountered! There are about 6 restaurants (of a surprisingly high standard) a 10-15min walk across the A7 in Cancelada or you can travel further afield if you so wish. No distance at all to Estepona or Marbella. There are also a few good places in the other villages dotted about. There are two main beach bar/restaurants nearby, we preferred the quieter area attached to the Villacana complex (good restaurant) rather than the somewhat busier, 'trendier' Heaven with its DJ. We also took trips to Granada (Alhambra) and Ronda - both well worth a visit. A fabulous weeks break in the sun, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We arrived as 'guests' but left as 'friends'. Home from home - thank you both. We'll be back!

We (my husband and I) have spent 10 nights in this wonderful hotel.
This boutique hotel is really a hidden pearl at the Costa del Sol. We really find it fabulous for several reasons; the room (New York) was tastefully furnished, you can have breakfast in the intimacy of your own terrace or you can choose your own favourite spot in the luxurious garden, the hospitality of the owners was amazing, the owners Axelle and Jean-Paul know the region very well (Jean-Paul is Spanish) and help you out for all excursions or will direct you to the good restaurants (from the simple beach restaurant to the more luxury restaurant). The hotel is ideally situated for many excursions (Ronda, Malaga, Grenada, Puerto Banus, Marbella, Mijas,…) and last but not least if you want a more relaxed vacation, you can rest at the magnificent swimming pool!
