We arrived early afternoon in Cordoba and entered the old quarter by taxi (5 minutes from the train station), immediately entering the narrow streets that made driving in a car seem out of place, as you go back in time and several arm lengths in street width.we were whisked into an interior patio and offered wine - swwet or dry while our room was prepared. The staff were very nice and extremely helpful- they helped us make arrangements for of a tour of the Mesquita and we figured everything else out on our own by maps and guidebooks. The hotel is well situated tp explore the old Jewish section, the Mesquita, the Albazyn palace and gardens, the bridges over the Guadalquivir River which cuts a path through 2/3 of Spain, a number of museums (sephardic jewish museum, anthropology museum and the old baths (hamam) which were just around the corner from the hotel and I was able to get into in just one hour for baths and a wonderful massage. The hotel in small with about 10 rooms, was very quiet, offered a nice breakfast with fresh yogurt and fruit. Our room on the second floor was next to stairs going up to a small rooftop patio from which you could see (indirectly) sunrise/sunset, if you are so inclined. It was not full while we were there for 2 nights. We asked for recommendations for vegetarian restaurants and the night hotel manager, a young and extremely friendly Macarena, gave us a great suggestion for along the river—Amaltea which has a very creative fusion menu w/ a number of vegetarian dishes. We heartily recommend hotel la llave de la juderia.

We stayed here for 1 night in May and we had a rental car. The good: the rooms and breakfast were very nice and the hotel could not be any closer to the Mosque - just a couple minutes walk which was very helpful. The bad: I should have paid closer attention to the other reviews - it's almost impossible to get a car to this location and we arrived on a busy holiday. The hotel is on a pedestrian street and we circled for hours trying to get down tiny streets to reach it. The staff spoke very little English so his directions were not helpful. It you don't have to drive here you might be OK. The street is so small you have to pull in your mirrors to get down it. The garage entrance is equally narrow. The front desk clerk told us breakfast was included with our stay - which was not true when we checked out. I think most of the problems came from the language barrier and the location. If you have a car, I can't recommend this place.

The hotel is comprised of 43 or so houses that have been connected together. We traveled to our room via an underground passage way. Our room was dark, had a king sized bed in a tiny room, and the bathroom was not directly connected to the bedroom area, but off the hallway that led into the bedroom area. The room was right over the side street, was noisy, and the window looked out into a outside shaft-no view! The breakfast was more than adequate, but the room was underground. The location of the property was excellent, and within walking distance to everything you wanted to see and do in Seville. The staff was cordial, but not overly welcoming. We checked in a bit early, our room was not ready, so our luggage was stored. We were escorted to our room with a hotel employee, who was very friendly.
I don' think I would stay at this property again if I returned to Seville.

Room Tip: If you are in the back of the hotel ask for a different room. Other rooms were much nicer.

We loved this hotel. Wonderful staff and very good sized room with a large balcony area overlooking the street. If you arrive by car you can park there, but it is not easy to drive through the very narrow streets - so it is probably a good idea to park in a public car park and walk. Later on if you are confident of the best route, then bring your car to the hotel. The area around the hotel is where everything is - so you can walk everywhere, enjoy meals and drinks and be in an out of your hotel all day if you wish. Our room was a large double with a large bathroom. Very nice indeed. Finally we found the staff to be charming and helpful. Enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the big balcony at the front

This small hotel goes above and beyond in the service it provides. We were incredibly well taken care of -- particularly when I twisted my knee and needed ice. They were quick to help and make sure I was okay. The rooms are of a large size as are the bathrooms. Fridges in the rooms along with complimentary water. Breakfast was very good too and worth the money. They will make you a hot meal to go with the buffet items of cereals, yogurt, fruit, juices and breads. Our room was the Rafael Romero Barras and was up a short flight of stairs. Beautiful furnishings that fit nicely in this very lovely property with both a patio and atrium area. You will be very happy if you stay here -- short walk to all the sights!
