I generally don't like writing negative reviews, but this restaurant was a disappointment. It started off great, delicious breads and amuses, and a fabulous starter of langoustine tartaar and pumpkin with tomato sorbet. But from then onwards it was all downhill. The dorado was dry, the duck was overcooked and tasteless, the 3 variations of parmesan was just plain weird and nasty, and the dessert just ok. The waiter was great. But the sommelier was very unfriendly, gave no explanations, and the wine pairings were unmemorable. Such a disappointment, especially for a Michelin star restaurant!

Dear NancyvaL,
Thank you for your feedback!
It's very regrettable that we couldn't meet your expectations. Usually our guests praise the performance of the Anna Amalia kitchen and service team, therefore it's really a pitty because your experience at the restaurant does not correspond to our high standards.
It'll be a pleasure for us to convince you on a furture occasion.
We're looking forward to see you again in Weimar!

This was truly an amazing meal. The chef came out to greet us and made sure we feel welcomed. We just went with a set course based on his recommendation. Every dish was exquisitely made to perfection. We were stuffed. Highly recommend to try this place if you are in the region. I believe it is also a Michelin 1 star restaurant as well.

We had the 5 course meal experience and it was everything we expected. The food the exceptional and surprising at the same time and plated like a piece of art. Exceptional wait staff and the sommelier recommended us beautiful pairings. Afterwards we enjoyed several dessert wines which we harder to find at restaurants in Weimar. We would recommend going here!

Great imaginative and high quality dishes prepared by the Chef Marcello Fabri. A very nice touch that towards the end of the evening he visits each table, remembers what each guest has ordered and happily explains the source and quality of ingredients and his cooking method.
The waiting staff were great and the only negative was the sommelier, who was a smart alexk who did not advise, but instead tried to force his wine choice. We ate 4 courses with 3 glasses of wine and coffee for €225 with tip. Great value at that price.
