On our way from Denmark towards Berlin we decided to make a stopover in this nice historic place that requires a visit another time again.

The place is right at the seefront and in a historic setting with a very impressive building a really nice rooms etc.

You get the feeling of being a special place and that is not the everyday hotel that you so often meet.

Remember to visit the SPA that is nice and relaxing and the massage is also worth a try, but remember to book early.

The restaurant is also quite classic with traditional german dishes and international food.

Room Tip: Get view towards the see if possible

This hotel was the grand casino of Travemünde. Now its an Atlantic hotel.
Our room price was 209€ per night. There is an extra charge for parking.
Our room was small and in the backside of the hotel. The room was not ready when we first arrived, we went for a walk and the promised to call us when ready, but the forgot.
The swimminpool was average. They had steam bath and sauna but no spa.
We had room service one night. They brought a wonderful table arrangement with nice hot meal, but forgot the drinks.
Breakfast was very good. Buffet with many good things to choose.
Great view from the restaurant.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago when it was still known as Columbia Hotel Casino Travemunde. We decided on a return visit,
and were not disappointed. We were a family group of 5, including our 7 year old grandson. We occupied two suites and stayed for 4 nights.
The 5 star beachside hotel was built in early 1900 and still exudes the welcoming atmosphere of that era and its historic ambience. Friendly professional staff took our luggage and showed us our rooms, which were in classic style and tasteful. All amenities were provided. Complimentary drinks are on offer. Parking is handy in front of the hotel and is supervised by an attendant.

We ate at the restaurant Holstein, with lovely views of the sea. It offers good regional dishes. The food and service is excellent. Breakfast, both a la carte and buffet, was plentiful and varied . The Spa area has a 20m swimming pool, a gym, and several saunas.

In our opinion, Atlantic Grand Hotel is one of Germany's best hotels and represents well German hospitality and service.

Wonderful building oozing the trappings of the past.
The reception was warm and welcoming
The room was large and stocked with complimentary soft drink
We breakfasted and dined at the hotel restaurant which is a treat.

We stayed here in mid-sept so it was fairly quiet. The hotel is old world but charming with impressive public areas. Our room was on two levels which looked amazing at first, but proved to be a little problematic. Firstly, if you are infirm, don't even think about trying to get up the stairs to the bedroom, they are steep and it would be difficult to get a suitcases up there. So you leave them downstairs, but there's nowhere to put them as the space is taken by 2 armchairs, seats you would probably never sit in as they face the staircase. Then there's the window, - Huge, double height, & very grand. But NO curtains that can be closed, so no privacy and lots of light first thing in morning. Everything else ok, good service, excellent breakfast, welcome cocktail (very nice). The hotel needs a bit of an upgrade (old tv etc.) But is still fine apart from setup of the rooms.
