This is an up to date review! We arrived in Wittenberg last Sunday June 18. We would have arrived two days earlier but couldn't get a hotel for Sat. night. We were checked though we arrived two hours too early to access our 2 rooms. Our bags were put in store. I am sorry to say that the female receptionist was brusque and snapped at me when I asked for the WiFi code! But she did give us our rooms well before 3 pm which we appreciated. The two rooms were on the 3rd and top floor. The hotel is about 25 years old but is well kept. The biggest problem we had was the high temperature of the rooms at night. We were there for 2 during a heatwave and suffered in the eaves/ attic of the hotel. Had I remembered in time, i would have asked for a sheet instead of a duvet.
As for the breakfast, we found it very good. It was included in the price we paid for the rooms. But the price for the rooms was high because of the Martin Luther 500. We also had a good meal iin the outdoor dining area one evening and enjoyed the seasonal asparagus. The service in the restaurant was very good in every respect

Dear Dublin-4Pat,

thank you for your review of our house.

We are very pleased that you enjoyed our service in the restaurant and our regional dishes.
Our house has a long tradition and has been a hotel business for 17 years now.
Our house is not air-conditioned in all rooms, but we would gladly have a fan provided.

We wish you all the best and remain with BEST greetings

We were in Wittenberg at a popular time for tourists because of the Reformation events and this being quite large, was the only hotel that had room.
It is situated at one end of the pedestrianised High street which leads through the Market Square , past all the Museums , restaurants and shops to the world renowned Stadtkirche.
We were in a room accessible for people with disabilities, although we did not need it to be, but it what was available so there was a shower seat which we did not need , but it was also just a walk in shower,
What we did not like was the ugliness if the furniture, a dark wood with metal studs, green carpet and red and orange armchairs ( which were comfortable) and the lack of shelf space, so we had to live out of our suitcase, though there was room to hang clothes that required it, Breakfast was good with a hot and cold buffet with good choices, Staff were helpful and rooms were clean.
It is a chain hotel without much character but as I said is in a convenient location, near the city centre and the railway station.

Dear Barbara & Celeste,

thank you for your review of our house.
We are very pleased that you enjoyed it with us.
Our house is in a combination of modern functionality and gozy historical atmosphere.

We wish you all the best and continue many beautiful excursion destinations.

This was the most spacious place that we've stayed in the last couple of weeks. Not the closest place to the center of town, but not far (it's not that big a place) and it's convenient to the train station if you're coming that way. Staff are friendly, and they have a really good complementary breakfast (including bacon, sausage and eggs for us Americans).

Just spending one night in Wittenberg, I wanted a central location, and this fit the bill. It's on one of the central walking streets of downtown Wittenberg, but at the quiet end, near the Luterhhaus. My room was large and comfortable with a view over the neighboring courtyard, with the tower of Luther's house a couple of houses away. Good breakfast and helpful staff. I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back side away from the street

The hotel is close to everything you could wish for a Luther visit. Wittenberg in itself is a quiet and charming place - good for shopping and eating out. Stadtpalais in itself is also very comfortable, quiet and nice.
