Super romantic and cute hotel. Easy access, great garden and personal. Relaxing and green. Just around a park and the castle.
There are also restaurants around and a Biergarten, perfect for a family trip as well.

Staying at the Villa was like living in part of history but with modern working facilities.

Our 2 bedroom apartment was of a good size for a company of 3 and we encountered no issues having a warm shower in winter or a good wifi connection.

Despite the rainy weather, it was nice to enjoy the serenity of morning strolls along the River Elbe, just taking in the beautiful view of Pillnitz Castle; or lazy evenings in the Villa's room with the fireplace.

Kind proprietress, Ines, was attentive and even helped us sort out a parking fine we were given enroute to the Villa -- a gesture which was much appreciated as we had no clue what to make out of the fine that was stated in German!

Do note, however, that the Villa is located around 15-20 minutes' drive to the city centre so it would be much easier if you drove. Parking is available on the Villa's grounds at an extra fee.

For those without a car, there is a tram service you could hop onto that takes you to the city. I'm sure Ines will have the details to share.

Leave your imagination free to travel into the balls of the famous opera singer, go for an early morning walk by the river, feel the breeze of the trees, drive your bicycle for hours, drink your cofee in the big yard of the Therese Malten villa.
No complains, everything just fine. We' ll come back...somewhen...

Coming from Italy, from Rome, I'm kind of used to beautiful residences and castles but Dresden has been a pleasant surprise for the richness and originality of its sites, such as the Old Green Vault or the Frauenkirche. Despite the fact that they have been re-built or exactly because they are rebuilt so well, they are definitely worth a visit. Our trip took place in the winter (end of Nov.-beginning of Dec.) when Xmas markets were in place: Germany at Christmas has a unique atmosphere!
Dresden is also the Elbe river with its enchanting panorama and, above all, it has been the magnificent stay at the Therese Malten Villa for us. My 15 girlfriends (aged 15 to 61) and I 'occupied' the entire Villa and had a most fulfilling experience. The Villa is out but not far from the city center. It is surrounded by a huge and perfectly maintained park on the Elbe river, facing Pillnitz Castle that you can reach in 10 minutes after an amusing boat river crossing (1,5 euro) departing very conveniently from a deck just behind the Villa. You can reach Dresden center in 30 minutes by streetcar no. 2. Stop is not far but better ask for directions from the Villa... All kinds of tickets can be purchased at the machine by the stop (there are good fares for groups). The Villa offered: luxury breakfast in a large room that easily accommodated all of us (16 people), wonderful view, outstanding cleanliness, forthcoming personnel and their kind owners, Ines and Stefan, waited for our arrival at almost midnight, lighted the fireplace for us and let us use the large kitchen when we ordered pizza from a delivery service (in fact they ordered for us as nobody in the group spoke German!). Only regrets: we did not have more days to spend there. I'd love to be back at Summer time for outdoors activities!

Room Tip: Only one smaller but cozy room on the ground floor. All rooms have a view and overlook the park. Bathrooms are perfect!

I am so glad that we have chosen this very unique place for our large family. We stayed with 4 families (14 people) and hat plenty of space. You can feel the history of this villa that was once owned by the famous opera singer Therese Malten.
The rooms are nicely furnished, have convenient beds and modern bathrooms. The villa has a huge garden, or better park. When you leave the park, you have only a 5 minute walk to the next ferry that brings you across the Elbe and to the Schloss Pillnitz.
The website contains very helpful tips. We can recommend the guided walk through Dresden and the restaurant "Elbterassen" that you can reach within 20 minutes by strolling down the Elbe river meadows towards Dresden.
We booked the breakfast for all of us. It was a great choice. In summer you can sit on the terrace in a very relaxing atmosphere.
If we go back to Dresden, we will choose this place again.
