Stayed one night and found the room very cold and uncomfortable. Noise all night as train passes next to hotel. Meeting rooms are ok and restaurant too. They have to work harder on making the rooms more comfortable and quite

Nice location but services provided are not adequate for a business meeting. Only few meeting rooms, inadequate breakout, lunch/breaks in the hallways.
Food quality medium/low.
Standard room service, cleaning at level. Low quality beds/pillows compared to the room price.

Have stayed at the Favorite Parkhotel in Mainz twice now and both stays have been excellent. Very nice rooms and a very cordial staff. Breakfast is first-rate, and wifi is fast and reliable. Also located on the edge of a very nice park, and convenient walking distance to the nearby Romanische Theater S-Bahn train station.

The hotel is located at 14 minutes, walking, from the old town of Mainz, in a nice Park, looking to the river Rhein. The hotel is divided into an old and a significantly newer one. The old one, built, most probably, by mid '80 is not soundproofed and, believe it or not, this really matters as, the train rails are 200 m away from the hotel. The last one passes after midnight and the first one, immediately after 4:00 AM...and the old windows are not able to fight the noise. More, the old rooms have no air conditioned, just a standing fan, in the middle of the room. On the other hand, employees are extremely kind and helpful, breakfast choice was one of the best I have ever had (and, as you can see from my posts, I am travelling, quite often, at least, in Europe) and the Park that surrounds the Hotel hides a treasure: a Flamingo birds colonia.

Room tip: Ask for a new generation room on the opposite side of the train rails...if you intend to sleep over night

I had stayed there before and had loved it. But this time round - we had booked via a hotel website - we ended up in the old building ("Rheinflügel") . The room was very disappointing - all worn and tired! By all means invest a little and stay in the new wing! When we went for a late drink, to our question whether this was the bar, the bartender apologized and said everything will be renovated next year. Oh well...... The quality of breakfast is good, but the buffet area much too small. However, if you are lucky, you have a great view of the river. The location in the Volkspark is nice, but it is quite a walk (at least 30 Min.) to the city centre.

Room tip: Avoid the "Rheinflügel" the rooms might have a good view , but hey are "70ies"
