I stayed in the Hotel this month for few days and I found it very good. The service was excellent. The overall environment was good as well. I would prefer to stay here in my next trip to Germany. With Best regards.

Dear Ali R, thank you for taking the time to write this review after your stay. We are very pleased that you liked the hotel and that you had a pleasant stay in our old villa. The Christmas season is slowly approaching and as every year the atmospheric Christmas market is a wonderful event to get in the right mood for the festive season. The Düsseldorf Christmas market is spread all over the city and has a unique, traditional nostalgic charm. Therefore we recommend you to visit us in the pre-Christmas period to explore the other facets of our diverse city and to enjoy our house in magnificent decoration. We would be pleased to welcome you as our guest again soon. Your Team Hotel Achenbach

I travelled to Dusseldorf with my son for his work experience, which coincided with his 18th birthday. This lovely hotel was recommended to me and is an oasis of calm in this busy city. It has a beautiful, tranquil garden and the breakfast is simply the best. Staff were friendly and enormously helpful. The hotel is conveniently placed for hopping on the tram and visiting all the wonderful museums and shops that Dusseldorf has to offer.

This is the crowning glory of every overnight stay with us. Healthy, fresh and homemade specialities are a must in our house. We look forward to welcoming you at your next visit! Your Team Villa Achenbach

The hotel is not situated near the center of town, it is a ten minutes ride by tram, but it’s on a quiet street, the reception was professional and pleasant. The breakfast was not included in our our fee, there aren’t any restaurant for breakfast in that area, at 20 euros, it was average.
Our room was in the sub-basement, strange to say, but was large, comfortable and renovated, nice bathroom, plenty of space for our things. But there was not enough light in the room, and the television had very poor reception.
Like the other travelers mentioned the hotel is in the old style, attention to details and is attractive. The staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable of their city.
If you like modern rooms with contemporary furnishings, this is not for you. We enjoyed our stay at the villa Achenbach, but we prefer a more modern environment.

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback on your stay with us. We are pleased that you felt comfortable with us. It is nice that you appreciate our friendly welcome and our service, our employees are very pleased with your kind words. As our house is located on the outskirts of the city centre, we offer our guests our new hotel combination tickets, so that you do not have to organize your own public transport tickets. Thus our guests can discover and explore Düsseldorf and even further cities, which lie in the VRR area, without worries. Our breakfast costs 14€ per person and per night, not 20€ as you wrote. The buffet is composed exclusively of food of the highest quality and freshness, so for example we use real eggs from the farmer for our scrambled eggs. At breakfast we also offer, for example, grilled vegetables and our own salad creations, such as our avocado-salmon-tartar or our beluga-lentil-tuna-salad. New taste experiences are therefore definitely included. But the most special thing about our breakfast is the atmosphere, which is created by our splendidly designed winter garden and offers everyone a perfect start to the day. Our rooms in the souterrain have recently been renovated and are one of our most spacious rooms. Normally these rooms should fall into the Prestige Deluxe category because of their size and comfort, but we sell them as classic double rooms because they are located in the souterrain. The expectations of our guests are usually always exceeded and some regular guests prefer these rooms more than the rooms on the upper floors. There is enough light there, but not all lights are on at check-in, as a dimmer light is more pleasant. You probably missed the light switches for the other lights. During the last renovation we bought televisions from one of the best brands, so there should be no complications. Due to our receiver reception it can happen that some of the 500 channels cannot be received immediately, but such a problem can be solved quickly. We would have loved and helped you immediately if you had let us know. Our style of furnishing does not seem to correspond to that of modern mass hotels. However, exactly this style gives us our indispensable recognition value, which is appreciated by many of our guests. Although the furniture, decoration and all the small details are in the classic Victorian style, the whole thing is combined with modern comfort. We would be pleased to welcome you soon in our villa! This must have been one of the strangest experiences in my travel in years. It felt as if being taken back in time by 40-50 years at least, and with little reassurance that it’s actually a good thing

There’s little I could say that I liked about the place. My room was at the very top (literally under the roof), its design reminiscent of a very old hunting cottage, complete with a thick fur bed cover (actually on both beds in the room)

The bathroom was big, but clearly fitted many years ago, as most of the space wasn’t used for any purpose (tiny shower cabin could have easily been muuuuch larger and more comfortable)

The breakfast served at the hotel left me wishing for much more. The only good thing about it was coffee

Service was a mess. A total of two people escorted me to my room upon arrival, one of them just to lead the way (all the way up to the top of the staircase) and to open the door, the other to “guide me through my room”. This felt both extremely uncomfortable and equally unnecessary. If I really fail to locate the bathroom or the TV remote, I can find my way to the phone (or in worst case walk down to the main desk and ask)

Anyway, I won’t be staying here again. And I think, neither should you, unless you fancy some horns on the wall and antiques all around

Dear Matowi, thank you for your extensive feedback on your stay in our house. Our villa is a city villa built in 1907 and is therefore not a log house whose walls can be moved. Some load-bearing walls and the slopes cannot be eliminated for us, but we have already done everything possible to exploit every space. We have only 3 double rooms with separate beds, one of which is the top of the house. All our rooms have their very own charisma and atmosphere, which have just been created by the architecture of this house. Every room looks different - so does the room in which you were accommodated. We also don't want to lose the style of our house built more than 100 years ago and that's why we wanted to keep the style of that time. Each room presents the general style of the house, but here too it is important for us that each room has its own personality. Should you nevertheless wish to come to us again, we would like to point out once again that the indication of room preferences or wishes can prevent dissatisfaction when booking. We are happy to cater to the wishes of our guests as far as possible. Usually our guests are accompanied to the room by a receptionist to help with their luggage and to explain the most important things in the room. The second person who accompanied you was a new receptionist, who of course needs to be trained so that our personal and helpful service can continue. We explain the most important things in the room to the guests only for your own benefit. This way our guests know in advance about all functions in the room and do not have to ask at the reception all the time. So you can find your way around the room without worries and relax. This service is very important for us, because in this way we maintain the spirit of the times of a real old classic villa. This tradition is our trademark, because we treat our guests as we used to in the past. We hope that you were generally satisfied and would be pleased to welcome you again. Your Team Villa Achenbach

Old world elegance mixed with modern luxury. This is my main reason to visit Dusseldorf so I can relax in this hotel. Best bathrooms for the size I have ever seen. Totally modernized. But elegance of old wood and furnishings keep you feeling like old german aristocracy.

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback on your stay with us. We are very pleased that you feel very comfortable with us. For us this is a very big praise, because apparently we exactly meet your expectations. Although our house is located directly on the border to the heart of the city centre, you can still relax in our city villa built in 1907. Our beautiful and noble residential street is very quiet. Above all, our garden is the perfect place to relax with a refreshing drink and enjoy the view of our English Garden. After a stressful day you need a good night's sleep to relax and we have made sure of that, as you have probably noticed. With our beds we offer our guests a relaxed and restful sleep, because we only have high-quality Royal Bedding ® mattresses in our rooms. These elaborately designed mattresses with body supporting properties offer our guests a wonderful, luxurious sleep. In addition, we have a large selection of cushions so that any preference of our guests can be covered. Our rain shower in our large bathrooms also gives our guests a certain relaxation through the massage-like feeling of splashing water on their heads. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
