Only able to get one meal in town while off the cruise- and we picked the right one. Their English was far better than our German. Good Schnitzel and fried potatoes. Many folks were having fish dishes. Local draft beer was good and the prices were reasonable.

To be honest Twee Linden wasn't my first choice but due to the variety of its menu it was something on which it was easy to agree on. It's a good, honest, non-pretentious port restaurant, with a rather cool outdated style. A visit to the toilets is a must as what seems to be decorated as the interior of a ship gives away it's past as a bank. The toilets are in what used to be an old bank vault, a quirky story to tell maybe even enough for a selfie! Food was as the restaurant, good, honest, non-pretentious. I had a really nice fish taster which consisted of battered fish with different sauces potatoes and cabbage. Fish was extremely fresh and tasty, you could easily distinguish and savour all of them. I'd really reccomend this dish, but don't expect anything fancy. All of the family was happy with their choices and we finished lunch off with really good espressos. Service was rather slow but good, waiters were very sweet and spoke english sweetly.

Although we were on a cruise, we splashed out for a luncheon at this restaurant. I had the plaice (Scholle) - it was wonderful. It came whole - as it should, not filleted. My husband had the halibut which he said was also great. Good service, amazing food.

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and Yelp and were pleased with their wide selection of preparations of fresh fish. The halibut was delicious. The portions were also very, very generous. We sat inside, since it was raining, and found it to be very cozy. We also found the pace of service to be leisurely though we appreciate that they were busy and the speed of service expected by Americans is not always what is standard in other countries.

Only had one woman waiting tables and it was a warm fine sunday--so she was a little overwhelmed and rushed. Had the schnitzel with white asparagus, which had been cooked to mush. Schnitzel was good tasting though. Better place to have just stopped for a drink.
