Arranged this hotel purely because it was at a convenient stop location to break a very long journey - the long winding drive started to make me think things were looking good ...
Arrived to find a slightly dated, obviously one time hunting lodge on top of a hill. We were welcomed by a wonderful receptionist who was incredibly helpful and then went to our room. Huge, masses of space, good sized bathroom, very comfortable bed and complete silence. I don't think I have ever stayed in a quieter hotel !

The restaurant served good beers, a nice traditional menu, not a huge choice but good food, breakfast was a buffet style meal with a varied choice of meats, cheeses, coffee, teas etc.

I'd love to go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in number 4.

Did a quick booking just 5 hours before arrival from my iPhone Booking.com app while driving through. There were just 2 rooms left and when I arrived I had the choice to choose on of them.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel seems to be a little old and worn but it was clean and thats the most important thing for me. The bathroom/shower was good and clean.
Nice and good breakfast also, though not included but well worth the 5 € extra.
The hotel is placed 2 km off the mainroad on a mountain top.
The view from the mountain top was an extra bonus though I did not have the full time to enyoy it

Whilst attending the near by Reeperbahn Music Festival our tour party couldn't find a central Hamburg hotel (left it too late) but I ak really glad we couldn't.

This place is a secluded hill top spot overlooking Hamburg, surrounded by forest (very German vibe). Huge rooms, great German food and beers innthe resteraunt, easy oarking (for our tourbus) free wifi...and just a 25 min drive from the crowded overpriced Hamburg centre.

Will be back next year.

A hotel with a fantastic view, nice public areas - typical German. The rooms are not very good, but it doesn't matter too much since you only will sleep there....
