Best espresso I had in Hamburg, great matcha latte and wonderful cheesecake! Lots of coffee brewing machines, cups, pots, whatever the pro in you needs. Hidden on a street among rundown buildings, full of charm.
Try it!

They do not only sell their own stuff but also various other roasts, some from Berlin and other cities. Always friendly and enthusiastic staff as well as nice people as guests around - would call it the perfect coffee place!

We came here to eat the famous cheesecake and it did not disappoint us. The cheesecake consists of several layers which give it a light structure and the raspberry sauce is not too sweet, but still contains the real raspberry flavour. The coffee is very good.
I also ordered a brie sandwich and there was butter on it. I know it's a German thing, but who puts butter on a brie?! Also it's a very small place which tends to get very crowded really quickly, so the better times to visit is during the spring/summer, as they have a nice outdoor terrace.

Came in from the cold. Warm shelter. Found amazing coffee and totally enthusiastic staff clearly enjoying what they do. Liked the Quijote kaffee "Black Ape" medium roast coffee so much I bought a bag of beans, and then the house Hermetic Coffee Roasters "Amkeni" light roast as well. Along with an excellent sandwich "I made it this morning with love", I also noticed a table having quite an elaborate looking breakfast, and I regret I didn't have time to explore more of the menu. The decor based on salvaged crates and natural materials cerates a simple homely atmosphere which nicely complements the absolute expertise "expressed" in the most excellent coffee and super friendly service. The "Standart" magazines casually lying around and the V60 drip brewers in several sizes tell all to anyone who wants to know about the best in coffee culture. Absolutely recommended...

I lived in Hamburg for a year and a half, and Less Political was always my number one destination for a good coffee (narrowly beating out Elbgold, which is unpleasantly rammed on the weekends.)

The cafe itself is on the small side, with some chairs and tables inside (and outside, weather permitting.) They sell a small selection of sandwiches and cakes too.

But the coffee is what brings you here, with a gargantuan and intimidating menu of delights, including all manner of hot and cold coffees produced through all manners of equipment, including a wonderful iced v60 (two varieties), a tasty leche y leche, and a rarely spotted in Hamburg flat white. They also sell an equally massive amount of coffee bags and gadgets to try out at home, costing from single digits to hundreds of euros. The staff are happy to walk you through them.

A must for any coffee curioso or budding connoisseur (or someone who just fancies a quiet cuppa.)
