I stayed in Anno 1900 for almost a week in Spring 2012. It was peaceful. The room was clean. The price was good. The property was attractive. In terms of services, however, Anno 1900 is not really a hotel, but somewhere between a hotel and a B&B. The desk was rarely staffed. There was NO INTERNET connectivity AT ALL. My room was very small, with a single bed, no clock, and no stand for my suitcase. It did have a closet. Breakfast was served in a nice breakfast building outside the main building. Breakfast was adequate: bread basket, fresh fruit, fruit salad, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, assorted meats and cheeses. For almost no money the innkeeper could at least provide alarm clocks in the rooms, and maybe folding stands for suitcases. I needed to get up for meetings at the University. Jetlag made it risky that I would wake up on my own. An alarm clock would have helped! It's actually a simple, peaceful, okay place. The price is right. For travelers with any business to do, however, the lack of *any* internet connection is a killer: no wired, no wireless, nothing. I guess that's one way they keep their prices pretty low, but I'd have happily paid another 10 Euro a night to have an *option* to connect! The walking distance to public transportation is 1km.

Room Tip: Big rooms face the street; small rooms face the back. The small rooms are really very small. Single bed; desk; side table; closet; bathroom.

I spent three nights in this hotel in August 2009. The hotel is on a secondary street, south of the railway/sbahn line. It's separated from the street by a large, beautiful garden where one can sit down and relax and/or work. While it's easy to reach by car, and one park the car along the hotel driveway or on the street, the nearest bus/tram stop is a 10 minute or so walk away.

The single room I had on the first floor was really small, with little space where to put luggage and clothes. This was the most negative points for me about this hotel, as most or all of other 3* hotels I've been in Germany all had bigger rooms.

The breakfast is given is a small side building in the garden. I found it to be quite adequate, though nothing to write home about.

The lady who checked me in spoke very little english, enough to tell you what room you have and what time breakfast is available, but not for anything more elaborated (what to see in Potsdam, or how to go to some specific place, etc.)

All in all, it's a nice place if you wish to relax a couple of days away from the city and if you have a car, but a little inconvenient if you travel on business and rely on public transport. Also, the small size of the room might not be a problem for one or two nights, but soon I became to feel uncomfortable, and I would not stay there again for longer periods.
