Arrived at this hotel quite late at night, upon arrival we were greeted by two receptionists (2 older gentlemen) who were very helpful and a credit to the hotel, same applies to the other receptionists the other nights who were also great answering our questions about the city.
Yes the hotel is on a main crossing in the city so do expect some noise but nothing too loud, I live in Manchester City and it's nothing different. Great view over the TV tower (if your on the right hand side of hotel)
To conclude, a good clean hotel with nice rooms and good staff. Can't comment on food as we ate out in the many wonderful local German places out of town. (Breakfast is expensive hence us searching elsewhere)
When returning to Berlin this is where I'll be booking.

Stayed: April 2018, travelled as a couple

Very good location for staying in the city center. Hotel is old and currently in refurbishment. After it is finished it should be good hotel. I stayed in large nice suite.
Breakfast is like in any other Mercure

We have stayed in Mercure for two nights, they had surprising upgraded me to a Suite room, which was very very large. Its a short walk to the Alexanderplatz metro station. Many budget hotels and commercial establishments close by.
Though it was old building they were doing some maintenance on the lifts.
Check-in was smooth.Staff were friendly.Rooms were kept clean and neat on arrival.Wi-fi was fast.
We didn't have breakfast here at it was very expensive.
Overall a good stay and helpful staff.

Stayed here for 1 week with my son, so had a twin room which we moved around a bit to make it easy for ourselves. The room was a decent size with an armchair and a small table. Two good lights over the bed which were good for reading at night. The TV was not so good the only English channel was the BBC News channel which just repeats every 1/2 hour. Bathroom good nice shower. Our room was on the 9th floor great view of the city from the balcony.
The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Alexanderplatz which has many bars and restaurants and the U and S train lines. Outside the hotel there are Tram and bus stops within 30 seconds walk so travel around Berlin is very easy from the hotel
When we booked we booked room only as breakfast is 18 Euros ( Which would have added 252 Euros on the price if we had used the option of breakfast) which is very expensive even if there is a good selection which there did seem to be when we looked. Next door there is a small café that does rolls and pastries which was more than adequate.
The staff were at all times helpful and friendly

Room Tip: As high as you can for the view (There are 2 lifts)
