We discovered this place on a blog of interesting places to check out in Berlin, and I'm glad we did. It is definitely one of the more unique hotels I've ever stayed in! The reception and check-in was great, with friendly service and good recommendations for the area. As you'd expect, the caravans are small but comfortable, and there are ample communal spaces (reading room, terrace) to make it seem larger. The WC and showers are communal but extremely clean.
The breakfast (available for 10 Euros/person) was excellent as well. Quick and easy option before heading out to explore the immensity that is Berlin.
It's great to see so many old caravans (which were presumably headed for the scrapyard) repurposed and given a new life. My only word of caution is that, being older caravans, they are not very soundproof. So you may hear your neighbors snoring - or whatever else they get up to.

We stayed in a large private room for three nights, and the best thing about this hotel was the location. It is surrounded by cool coffee shops, bars and restaurants, and a short walk from the canal if the weather is good. I would stress that it is a basic hotel: no fridge, no room service, there is no reception/check in after 6pm unless you arrange it; the wardrobe is just a couple of hangers on a coat hook, there is noise from the corridors and the bed has two single duvet covers instead of a double. That kind of thing. But it was clean and comfortable, and the staff are lovely. I would stay there again.

We absolutely loved our stay!
The concept is really smart and our room was cosy, well isolated and functional. Although the design is minimalist, the decoration has definitely its charm.
Friendly and very helpful staff, food (we took the double breakfast option) is delicious (all fresh, local and homemade)!
We recommend it to any caravan lover, curious or people looking for a original stay. Next time, we'll definitely come back !

The room was great- very comfy and quiet --we had it for 7 days and no complaints at all. The neighborhood had some interesting shops and pubs and the hotel is close to the U-bahn. Opt in for breakfast if you can - great spread, wonderful coffee and everyone is so friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back!

A group of 12 girls came to stay in the Huettenpalast caravan room. It contained 4 caravans and the "old palace". It was a fantastic space with lots of room for 12 girls to sit around, get ready and relax. The beds were comfortable and there were amble showers and toilets. The area was very clean and the addition of tea, coffee and croissants for breakfast brought into the area each morning was excellent. It was in a great location for walking around / near to the subway. I can't comment on the other rooms in the hostel but I would love an opportunity to come back to the caravan room and would recommend any large groups definitely make a booking here!

Room tip: Stay in the caravans - they are excellent fun
