After many trips to Berlin we took a chance with the Trabant! We were nervous about what the tour and drive could be like. Easier to drive than you might think, this is still a challenging and exciting way to see the city. The guided tour is fun and the Trabiworld set up works really well: these people know what they're doing and you're put at ease very quickly. Unforgettable.
Boy, this is fun! From breezy on line booking through relaxed check-in and hilarious safety briefing all the way through the tour and the knee-tremblingly triumphant return to base, this was a blast. Our guide was attentive and witty in equal measure. He was quick to spot when the convoy got split by traffic lights or gearbox related 'issue's (high-speed a heavy right foot helps here, though everyone in your wake will disappear in a blue dog of exhaust fumes!)
Two tips For success: don't pick the last car in the convoy and spend more time than normal perfecting your look (you will be ending up in literally hundreds of tourist photos as you cruise the boukevards, so you might as well dress to impress.....f
Booking In Advance is a good plan. Theres an opportunity to swap drivers at the half way point (get ready for the paperazzi ) Travis take 4 people in theory, but if your party of 4 contains anyone other than small children or hobbits, consider splashing out on two cars... You'll save on physiotherapy bills in the long run.
Go enjoy- you'd be daft to miss this one!
A really fun way to see Berlin and learn about the East German car, the Trabant! Great guide who was raised in East Germany so could add his real life stories to the tour.
Very fast online booking and reservation before our trip to Berlin. Smooth booking system and multiple confirmations and good communication. On the spot, nice staff. Well organized. Detailed and guide took time for instruction to drivers. Safe environment created by the guide during the tour. Good balance between touristic information and entertainment by the english guide. We did the tour with one adult and a 10 year old son. The car and city environment were very impressive for the kid. Nice and more private alternative compared to the hop on hop off tours. For us the 1,5 hour tour was enough to see important spots in the city and I nice afternoon activity during this very cold freezing day in Berlin. Combined the trabi tour with a visit to berlin wall and check point charly.
