Loved the apartment (Rubin) and the area so much. Lots of cool cafes, gorgeous restaurants and tree lined streets with interesting shops. Travelled with two kids- 13 and 7- and we all loved our stay. The apartment is bigger than in the pictures and equipped with everything you need. I wanted to transport it back to Ireland as the decor and architecture hit all the right notes. A few criticisms - the creaky kid's bed which woke some of us up a few times including the 13 yr old sleeping in it! Plus the absence of blinds on the window so we all were awake very early. Some light bulbs were also missing in the lounge area which is big and needs good lighting in the evening. Ate out every night (Si An Vietnamese and Anna Blume of particular note) as it was so reasonable. If I wasn't abstaining from cocktails or wine I would have been even happier! Transport links so efficient and easy to navigate. Got taxi to the apartment (45 euro) and when we got our bearings we took the train back in leaving as it was so easy to get to. Cafe Krone served the delicious (and healthy) breakfasts in gorgeous vintage surroundings and lovely family-friendly vibe. Didn't get to meet Max but he was very helpful in explaining things before our arrival. Bottle of cava in fridge was a nice touch! Loved Berlin, learning more about its history and the general feeling of safety. Going back again as soon as I can. Didn't shop for much but looks like you could spend a week doing that alone!

We really enjoyed our stay with Brilliant Apartments. The suite was well furnished, with a great bed ... and dead quiet at night (faces an interior courtyard). We couldn't have been happier, and would definitely return and recommend it to friends.

Very accessible by tram, lots of feedback from the owners about ensuring access whatever time we arrived; nice cafe downstairs below the apartment serves good coffee, cakes and more; owners happy to help with odd requests (we needed scales to check the weight of our luggage on departure home); apartment clean and well maintained, with all the basic utensils we needed in order to cook. No noise evident from adjoining apartments (beside us or above).

Room tip: Room labelled Topaz is right above the garbage dumpsters. A little noisy when people dump stuff in there in the early morning, but not smelly. Note for most apartments you will will have to luggage upstairs - there is no lift.

We stayed in Opal for 4 nights and it was great! The apartment was large enough and it was nicely decorated. Cafe Krone was downstairs and the staff helped with printing tickets, storaging luggage etc.

The location was simply great, Oderberger Strasse is a nice quiet street with lots of clothes shops and cafes. Wifi worked well and the whole building was stylishly old. I don't see anything special to complain about this place. Okay, price could always be lower, but I think the value Opal delivers is exceptionally good.
