My wife and i wanted a regular German restaurant where locals go to dine.and our hotel concierge recommended Lindenwirtin, a few steps from the Theodor-Heuss-Platz U-Bahn station.
It was so good we went there twice. The menu consists of basic fare like Schnitzels, leberkäse, scrambled eggs with chantrelle mushrooms, etc.
The price, the service and the atmosphere were exactly what we had in mind. The biggest drawback was the cigarette smoke drifting in from the patio, since on a warm evening all doors are kept open.
