“Good German neighbourhood restaurant”
Reviewed 16 August 2011

My wife and i wanted a regular German restaurant where locals go to dine.and our hotel concierge recommended Lindenwirtin, a few steps from the Theodor-Heuss-Platz U-Bahn station.

It was so good we went there twice. The menu consists of basic fare like Schnitzels, leberkäse, scrambled eggs with chantrelle mushrooms, etc.

The price, the service and the atmosphere were exactly what we had in mind. The biggest drawback was the cigarette smoke drifting in from the patio, since on a warm evening all doors are kept open.

“Great local choice!”
Reviewed 10 March 2011

We were sent here by relatives and friends who are local to the neighborhood. They told us that we would find authentic Berlin cuisine, at reasonable prices, locals (not tourists) and the best Bratkartoffeln anywhere! They were right! The food was great, the service great, the atmosphere, cozy yet stylish. The restaurant was full and energetic, obviously popular and well liked. I think one of us ate the Schweinerueckensteak "Strindberg" and it was delicious. We drank Berliner Weisse beers, and if I remember correctly, I had a Roete Gruetze (sp?) for dessert that was also, everything you would want it to be! :-)
Highly recommend!
