We have only visited the Puppet museum! it is very nice, well arranged and managed to create a cozy, yet somewhat spooky atmosphere. There are translations for all puppet arrangements on display, so it is easy to find out more about the stories and/or the shows where they featured. Most of the shows are based on German stories, so we did not find many known stories. However, there are several places where children can actually play (some movement sensors for older kids, fully equipped shop with counter, baskets, products, etc. for small kids, the ginger bread house with a cauldron and many things to boil a potion). Plus there are two small rooms where they play famous TV series based on some of the puppets on display. Because of these you can spend about an hour or two with kids, otherwise the visit is probably less than an hour. For a winter morning it provides really good entertainment when you travel with kids! Otherwise it is probably interesting for people working in the field or very passionate about puppet theater.

I have German heritage, so I vaguely remember this puppet show from my childhood. The puppet displays are very nice and well maintained and there are some interactive spaces for kids. Most explanations are only in German, so many might not get that much out of this museum. It's a cute thing to see if you have kids or if you are really into puppets but it's nothing to write home about. The downstairs cafe is not particularly nice and has a very limited range of drinks. If in the area better go to the nearby Cafe am Milchberg, which has a nice back garden and good teas, coffees and cakes. It's family friendly and run by a charity that supports disabled people

We had read up on places to visit in Augsburg and the puppenkiste was recommended so we thought to check it out. The show was in German and otspeaking the language meant we didn't understand a word of what was being said but being Christmas time the show was about the birth of Jesus so we were able to follow along. The puppets and the back drops themselves are worth checking the show out alone, so intricate and the puppeteers do an amazing job. Not sure what it wouldn't be like to see a show that you didn't know the story of if you didn't understand German but we certainly enjoyed our time as did our 3 year old!

This puppet museum was adorable! I enjoyed every minute of it. There were very few people there during my visit making it easy to navigate and view all the displays. It is a small museum, but it makes you smile!
