Reichsparteigelande (Nazi Party Rally Grounds)

These Nazis rally grounds are not a tourist attaction. The German people are letting this area revert back to nature. The columns became dangerous due to a lack of maintainence and were removed. The stands surrounding the grounds are becoming overgrown with grasses and weeds. They are not proud of this heritage...rightfully so. There was no charge to get in, and you can take a tram from downtown to get there.

Would have been helpful if the museum info gave an idea how long it was to go round. As it was we had to rush round so couldn't fully appreciate the place. Very good that the audio guide was in English though. Very sobering place that it is important to keep open - as a warning of how things can develop in a very short time.

Excellent historical overview of the rise of Hitler and the Nazis. There are a number of photos and accompanying lectures tied to each photo as well as various films.

The Germans struggled for years over what to do with the Nuremberg Nazi Party Rally Grounds remnants. Only recently have they decided to preserve as much as they can for the education of future generations. There are four aspects of the rally grounds remaining - the Great Street connecting all of the venues which is still intact, the New Congress Hall, partially completed and now holding the Documentation Center, the Luitpold Arena which was turned back into, after the war, a public park (only some remnants remain), and the Zeppelin Field of film and photo fame - much of the main grandstand remains and is still used for modern events, though it is beginning to crumble. Plan three hours to visit this somber but massively impressive site.

make a stop at the headquarters and the rally fields of the nati party, really interesting the remnants of the existing structure and how is it utized today. If a good day, you can see the reflection in the pond that was identified as an original design feature.
