Our world would be different today if this building had been able to be finished and the Nazi regime would have grown more powerful. Not a better world, that is for sure!
The emotions of driving through it and hearing the history from our very knowledgeable Viking tour guide were also powerful.
Thank God, the German government are keeping these "memorials", so that we don't forget and let history repeat itself.
I have this such a good review, because it is one place on our tour that I will never forget.

Can walk round the grounds. After hearing the documentary within the museum it is worth seeing after. Would recommend

To get to the Doku Zentrum or the Nazi Rallying grounds, get the No 36 bus outside the Hotel Sorat every 20 mins. Buy a day bus/team/S and U-Bahn ticket for two at the tourist office in the main square for 11.90 on Saturday and it covers Sunday as well. Great value for money because the same ticket is valid for travel to the airport from U2 at the main line station.

The view inside the unfinished monument is nothing special but it’s exterior is more impressive as you walk towards the rallying grounds. You will see that it is built in the shape of a Roman colosseum.

I didn't actually get to go inside the museum however what an interesting, sad place. My German friend brought me here and told me all about it. There are boards inside with all the details of history written on it (in English too).
You don't need to book any tour if you are on a tight budget, my friend just drove in and we got out to read the boards and looked. Drive in by the entrance/main doors to the Opera House (looks like a service entrance).

This excellent exhibition follows how Hitler came to power and the results of his megalomania. Footage of the march through Nürnberg and the film of the rallies stirred emotions.
