Arrived in Munich by train, crossed Bayerstrasse and walked into the hotel foyer. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large and well equipped. Tram 19 stops outside the hotel every 15 minutes for the 5 minute journey to Marienplatz. The buffet breakfast bar was well stocked and open from 6am, so convenient for early starts. We would definitely stay at Aloft again.

Breakfast area has barely 10 tables, which is only few meters from checkin counter, so loudly crowded area to have breakfast. These tables are tightly put together, as the whole breakfast area is barely 10 meters by 3 meters. There were only two baby chair (high chair) with one of them didn't have the front support, leaving only one useable baby chair. This wasn't repaired for the duration of 5 days that were were there and we needed a baby chair; although we reported this to them.
Breakfast quality and quantity was way below the average. We kept asking waiter to refill the breakfast over and over, day after day. Scramble eggs taste awful. Pancakes were dried and hard to bite.
Although the waiter was very helpful, the waitress was very rude and disprespectful, specially when we had to wait a long time for tables to be cleaned up so we could be seated (imagine the wait, if you got kids with you).
Note that most of the time, there is only one waiter/waitress available during breakfast to either clean up or refill the food.
No porter available in the hotel. You'd need to carry your bags on your own.
Hotel doesn't have front entry for cars to load/unload luggage.
The available parking on the basement, is tight space as well. Also, although we paid for 5 days parking in advance, the parking ticket never worked on the machine, and every time we had to call the reception to manually open the gate for us.
No restaurant available within the hotel. So, no room service, which is often needed for us with kids during evenings.
Although, i had booked weeks before the traveling date, and requested connecting rooms, the hotel staff had not considered my request! (note that I'm a marriott member for years, and I wasn't expecting such request not being granted). Definitely I will consider other hotel brands in my next traveling.

Room tip: Not recommended for families with young kids.

Dear Rashedkarkain,

First of all thank you very much for taking the time to tell us your feedback about your recent stay with us.
Normally most of the Aloft Hotels just offer a Grab n go breakfast.however we decided to offer our guests an extended continental breakfast. We are sorry that you did not like it.
A disrespectful serve as you describe it is definitely not our standard. We will train our staff more and more in that part. Thank you very much for letting us know.
Also regarding our baby chairs I can tell you that we already ordered new ones but unfortunately they are still not delivered by the company.
The Aloft Brand is a select service brand and no full service brand which means that we only offer selected services. We do not offer porterage at all and as you already mentioned we do not have a restaurant in place. However at our WXYZ Bar our guests are able to order smaller snacks.
I am very sorry that the parking tickets did not work. We will inform the external company who is responsible for the parking garage and also for the ticket machines.
Unfortunately requests can not be guaranteed but we always try to consider all requests if possible. We only have limited rooms with connecting rooms but many more guests that are requesting it especially in August. I am very sorry that it was not possible to consider your request of connecting rooms.

This hotel is an excellent location if you are arriving/leaving via train. The entrance is directly across the street from the main exit of the Hauptbahnhof, which is where you arrive from both the airport and cities outside Munich. It's about a 20-30 minute walk to the city center. The hotel was nice, new and clean and the staff was very helpful. Would absolutely stay here again.

The hotel is just beside the train station which is a good place to stay because of the shops in the train are always open and have many restaurants like burger king, Macdonalds, Starbucks and the catering for pizza and bakerystuff.
There is also several arabic restaurants surrounded by the hotel.
And only 7 mins away from one of the important place called Karlz platz( street full of shops and cafes will write a separate review )
Its a great choice if you decide to stay in

The Hotel is right across the street from the train station which made things very convenient. The room and bathroom are where a nice size. In general the room was clean, carpets could be cleaned better and chair had a spot on it. The Lobby area got noisy at times. Beware of some of the front desk staff, can be very rude. We had a run in with a lady working the front desk 3 times, one time we asked for changes and she said they didn't have change, but the other person work front desk told us to come over and he helped us. The hotel had internet issues for several days, when asked same lady when it would be back up, she barked at us and said there is nothing she can do. The internet is was a big deal for us, we need to connect to deal with work issues and were unable to do so. The room we had was quiet, which was nice. We left 2 notes (english and german) for extra towels and got nothing. Several times the bath towels that we got that need to be turned in to rags and not given to guest. The Breakfast was pretty good at the hotel. I would be willing to give this hotel another chance, but they really need to deal with their internet issues and staff issues.

Hi bill_bay_area_ca,

First of all we world like to apologize for the inconvenience and circumstances that you had to deal with the other day.
We constantly strive to provide our guests with the best possible experience in the aloft Munich. However, we did not live up to our own expectations when you stayed at the aloft Munich.

Our external IT company worked hard on the internet problem and was finally able to fix it on Friday evening. Unfortunately, this problem has affected the whole house as well as the employees' computers.

The experience you described about our Front Office staff is not characteristic of the level of service our associates strive to provide. We are really sorry for this and will speak to the employees, that something like this not happens again.

I would be pleased nevertheless, if you grant us still the chance of a further stay in our house.
