Stayed for 5 nights with 2 teenagers. Rooms are neat and clean but a bit spartan. Flat panel televisions, a good number of electrical outlets and plenty of hot water with good pressure. We were in room 308 (I'm assuming from the industrial design of the building that most of the rooms on the length of the hall are similar) which had a WC separate from the sink/shower which had obvious advantages and disadvantages. The beds had nice, warm fluffy duvets (almost too warm for me, as I prefer to sleep a bit on the chilly side) but the pillows were more like mini-duvets than pillows to me. I actually slept on the sofa-conversion and found it quite comfortable. The staff is uniformly friendly and helpful, I don't think you could ask for better. Convenience is fantastic - the 18 & 19 tram stop at the front door (and you can buy tickets from the front desk - check out the partner multi-day tickets for a good value.) There's a restaurant just a few doors down that serves Augustiner (best beer in Munich) and you're only 2 stops from the Hauptbahnhof on the trolley. If you're familiar with most any urban/suburban rail system using the trams, U-Bahn and S-Bahn are a piece of cake. As is the case with all of Germany smoking is tolerated pretty much everywhere, but they do have non-smoking rooms. I'll definitely consider them for future stays as appropriate.
