The food was very good. The service was very nice and spoke fluent English. They should have been a wider menu for vegetarians though. It is located in a nice spot. The scenery inside the restaurant was very nice, but it should have been brighter. This is a great restaurant if you are looking for German food and drinks. The food came about 30 minutes after I ordered which was a little long. The German dessert was very good. I recommend this restaurant to anyone whom is looking for Germanic food.

Delicious, delicious, delicious! Do not come to Garmisch and miss this place! We split a pork knuckle (good luck eating one on your own) and a superb side salad and finished with the house schnapps, which we bought a bottle to go. Friendly service and an interesting menu- going back tomorrow night for sure!

Make sure you call to reserve a table because they were booked solid for a reason. The service was excellent from the owner's reception to the waitress who spoke great English. The potato cream soup was heavenly and set the standard for the main course. We had 3 different entrees and each was massive in size and flavor! Not too mention came with a side of roasted potatoes that was zooper but with the portion side was the reason we didn't finish with a dessert. Cold beer, great service, and awesome food! This is a must place to try while in the area.

I live here. This is the choice of the locals. Whenever the office goes out for a social event, we always come to Zum Wildschuetz. Food is good, varied, and plentiful. The the cost is reasonable; beer is the best. If you want Schweinshaxe (which is the best prepared in the area) you should order ahead of time to ensure that it will be available when you arrive, as they only make a limited number and they sell out quickly. Come hungry!
Remember that tipping in Germany is just rounding up to the next euro--or if that amount is too small, a euro per person, so the evening is considerably less expensive with a 15-20% tip.

We have visited this typical bavarian restaurant twice during our stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Great food and excellent service! The good thing is that they are opened all day. From 6.00 pm on you can order "Schweinshaxe" (pig knuckle) which is definitly a must have (if you are really hungry). All in all good value for money in a nice atmosphere.
