We were a group of five, the restaurant was very full and ordering took some time. Our appetizers came fairly quickly and were very good... but our mains took an eternity. We waited. And waited. And waited. After almost 1.5 hours - everyone else had already eaten, we were the only ones still waiting - I asked our server where our food was. Very hungry, I pounded on the table once with my fist - it was meant humorously, we were in a Greek restaurant and they came by numerous times with ouzo and were in high spirits - and said: We're so hungry, when will we get our food? To be perfectly clear: I asked with a smile, but of course we finally wanted to eat.
Not 5 minutes later we were served our meal - and the owner came to our table and said to me: You are not welcome here - eat, pay and go! And never come back! You don't behave this way in my home! I lost my appetite, got up, paid and left. And of course the owner, who first said I would not have to pay the main if I left immediately, presented me with a bill for the main. To avoid further grief I paid and left - and will never go back.
To round out the experience, the others were shortchanged by 10 Euros when they paid. Thankfully, they realized it and returned and did get their money when they insisted.
