In summer, they have a BBQ with grill specials and lots of outside seating in the quiet yard. Usually there are fish and seafood options. Tasty, somewhat rustic food that is relatively simple but tasty. Inside there is a large 1st floor with with roof terrace and also a few tables downstairs. Outside there are many tables in summer. The service is cordial and good.

We were staying at the Marriott, not very far away, and came here based on the TripAdvisor rating, but were somewhat disappointed. We got a table upstairs, which was quite noisy (the friend across the table was constantly cupping his hand over his ears to hear), and a little warm. The appetizers (chevre salad) were good, but two of the main dishes, steaks, came and then the main dishes for the other three did not come for another 15 minutes. We told those who got their food to start, but they were done by the time we got ours. I ordered the grilled calamar, which was a special on the board on the wall. I only got four rings (in a land with large portions), and they were incredibly tough. (Which reminded me of the joke that opens Annie Hall - the food was terrible, and in such small portions.) So I would not recommend the place highly. It is hard to find, in an interior courtyard with virtually no signs. If you want to eat outdoors, you will eat with the smell of smoke, which is what it used to be like in France, if you want nostalgia.

This place is fantastic,I stumbled on it by accident and it would be quite difficult to find even if you were looking for it.
It`s in the newer part of town on Bergheimer strasse between the Hauptbahnhof and the river but it`s off the main street in a courtyard.
It`s a very wine oriented place but the food is excellent.the meat is cooked outside over charcoal.I think it's themed as a kind of rural French place and most of the stuff on the menu is French but it's not at all fussy or pretentious.
The staff are all very young and look a bit bohemian and trendy ( think beards and daft haircuts) but they're really friendly.I was here on a rainy Wednesday and it was full with mostly locals,I guess because tourists and visitors would never know the place existed, the atmosphere was really good.
Price wise it's ok...about 20 euro's for a main course and about the same for a bottle of wine.

One of our favorite places to eat in Heidelberg! The delicious food, extensive specials menu, and nice selection of wines keep us coming back. In particular, the bread, aioli, and olive starter should not be missed. The vibe is pleasantly casual and relaxed, and we usually end up lingering over another glass of wine or coffee. The only minor downside is the service - it is usually ok at the start of the meal, but getting the check can be a challenge.

This is a place where you turn off your phone and order another bottle of wine and continue the excellent conversation you are having

Situated near the Station but in a hidden corner which gives it the coziness of that bistro in Paris you like.

Culinary: France comes to you in Heidelberg with even a touch of Italy here and there. Excellent food for good value. Carpaccio of Goat cheese was an instant hit in our family.

Succinct menu list. Have eaten here twice in the last quarter.

Only complain is that service can be slow. But just let them know and they will help.
