I have booked this hotel based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. The most important criteria was close to highway. We were on our way home from Italy and just needed a place to eat and sleep for one night.
On the plus side: the hotel is only 4 kilometers off the A5. Easy access, lots of parking space.
Now for the downside.
I had booked an executive room including breakfast for 194 euro.
The room (179) was a disappointment.
There were huge stains on the carpet (several spots), and on the ceiling too (dead mosquitos?). There was a large chip off the bathroom door, bathroom was clean but needs a bit of TLC from the maintenance department (at least get a new door).

Apparently, paintings had been moved but the old holes had not been filled or the wall repainted.
All in all, for that amount of money, a disappointing experience.

The advertised free wifi only works on laptops, not on mobile devices (we tested all our 3 devices to no luck).
Food is ok but at breakfast I had a unclean knife.

I can't recommend this hotel, it is overpriced and overrated.

This was the site of a conference I attended with my wife. We found it to be a perfectly acceptable conference location, close to the site where we met. The rooms were large than the usual German sized rooms. We had plenty of space. The WIFI worked fine at our end of the hotel (there was also a business center for those that do not have a computer). The banquets we had there were fine. The buffet breakfast is particularly good, with lots of hot and cold choices. I really enjoyed the breakfast Frikadellen and my wife loved the granola with yoghurt. The bed was comfortable. All in all we had a comfortable stay. It was nice to have the adjacent gas station for a quick snack. I did use the exercise room and was pleased with it. Note that this location is well outside the city center of Heidelberg. There is a reasonable transit system with bus stops near the hotel, but it can be confusing. A good map is advised. I got turned around and ended up walking into the center of the suburb the hotel is in rather than to the hotel itself. Expect 30-45 min to get to or from the center of Heidelberg. There is a tram stop in town, but it is about a kilometer away from the hotel. There is good access if you are driving, with a main road (not an autobahn) a few hundred meters from the entrance. Parking is supposed to be for a fee, but we were not charged while we were there. Most staff speak both German and English and are friendly and helpful. There is a hotel bar and a hotel restaurant. We used both and found them both to be acceptable. There are a couple of dining options within a half kilometer, but this is essentially a suburban location. We would not hesitate to stay here again for a conference. It may be a bit too far out for a tourist visit to Heidelberg but could be a good base for exploring the surrounding area—if you have a car. It’s quite close to the castle at Schwetzingen, for example.

I spent just a night at this hotel as my one week stay was cut short but the one day stay was worthwhile. The place is clean, rooms spacious and a dedicated office area (at least for my room whic was a twin bed room). Oh the Chef! Nice food and my colleagues who were already lodging there had already spoken well about him too.
Internet experience is 'OK' but I was told their premium packages are wow.
Not much activity in the area but it is a good place for business travel just make sure you rent a car :)

What can be improved: If you don't have a car it is nothing you can do there. No suitable public transport to go/return to the city center. No singe large beds, only made from two. So if you are heavy enough you can find yourself in the night laying in the hole between matresses. No elevator, only stairs (3 floors, one is basement).
Sometimes WLAN and door cards stopped to work.
What is good: Large bathroom with a bath. Safeboxes for free in every room. Pretty nice breakfast. Best WLAN for 6 years travelling to Germany.

I spent 2 nights while being in Heidelberg with a car. Highly recommended since here you pay a lot less than for the hotels closer to the city center. (Additionally, some city center hotels charge >€20 per day for parking. Leonardo Hotel in Peikartsfoerster Str. charges €8.)
Overall the hotel is friendly, clean and efficient. Perfect for a short business stay.
The only minor inconvenience was that the room (in the 300-306 range) was two floors above the power generator. While it could not be heard during the day, it emits some very deep sounds, which may prolong the time you need to get sleep if you are sensitive.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms directly over the power generator (Notstromaggregat).
