We had an extra day and decided to visit Heidelberg. We chose this hotel for easy access to a quick route to FRA (airport). We were surprised by the neighborhood, it was an unattractive area next to a gas station. But the hotel was serviceable and quite nice inside. The bedroom and bathroom were nice, like any generic hotel room.
We arrived and were given a much higher price, but had booked via Booking.com the day before. They found our reservation and said the price was a certain amount without breakfast. Our reservation had included breakfast, but the price they then quoted was lower, so we took it. But it was not 30 Euro lower, which was the price of two breakfasts.
We had to leave early, so we just took the lower price without breakfast. Otherwise, the room was clean and the hotel was what we needed: a direct route to the highway to Frankfurt airport.
We took our car to the old city of Heidelberg (a bit hard to find parking, but that is expected in medieval cities) and due to many bits of serendipity, had a delightful eight hours there, including a riverboat ride, a hike to the castle, two delightful small meals and a feel for the ambience of the city.
This hotel provided what we needed: A good night's sleep. Pillows were skimpy.More
