Good location. Excellent value for money. Parking facilities available even if a bit expensive. Local transportation available as next door to main train station., so no need to take the car into Lyon, quite busy during the WE

This hotel is centrally located near the railway station but the staff and service are amongst the worse I have ever experienced. The reception area is very confused and staff members just simply walk past and ignore you despite them observing that you are waiting to be seen. My room had no bureau or a seat to sit on so I ended up sitting on the ;luggage rack and used my bed as the top to place my computer on!!! What a shambles and not geared for the business commuter.

Terrible service from the staff. Have a room where the key will not open the door and despite 7 trips to the reception it is still not fixed

Staff are rude and unhelpful, mostly concerned with how much inconvenience customers are putting them through. No ironing facilities for international travelers.

Worst Novotel ever stayed in. Am Platinum member

I'm a platinum member of Accor group, booking more than 60 nights per year with this hotel chain. My experience with Novotel Part Dieu was so bad, that I'm now planning to change and book my nights with another hotel chain for business trips. This hotel is absolutely terrible. The worse thing is the quality of service: unpleasant people (not friendly at all) at the reception. At the restaurant it's even worse: as a platinum member I have a welcome drink, and when I go to the bar and ask for a drink, it's like the barman is doing a favor serving me something. On top of it, the service is extremely slow, especially the room service (in the past I've been waiting up to 1 hour and a half to have a sandwich!). Nobody apologizes for it. Last but not least, during my last 2 nights there the room smelt bad; apparently the feedback I gave did not really interest the receptionist. Overall, the quality of service of Accor group hotels (Novotel and Mercure) is decreasing massively. Not all the hotels, but most of them. They recruit very Junior people for their 4 stars hotels and let them alone. They often fell "lost". I might be wrong, but I fell like they are not trained and helped sufficiently. This junior receptionists struggle to handle even very simple requests (Exemples : serving a bottle of water from the Bar cause they lose the keys, the TV doesn't work and they don't know what to do, no proactive support when you wait for more than un hour to have you diner, mistakes in the invoices, no feedback when you ask to fix a problem, it takes way too long to check in and check out....). When you plan a business trip every week, you are a platinum member, and you book 4 stars hotels... I think it's reasonable to expect a level of correct level of service: attention, professionalism, rapidity, friendly welcoming, and listening. And most of my business traveller colleagues agree with this statement. Maybe the only exception is Sofitel (witch I still like), but the price is not the same...
