No bad experience but just a note from my previous trip. The hotel is divided into two parts, facing each other on either side of the road. One side has the reception, lobby, restaurant and rooms. The other has only rooms. I prefer to stay in the first.

눇It was my fourth trip to Chamonix and the second stay at Mercure. It is, in my opinion, the best choice by far to stay in this lovely place. It's location is bang on for transportation and the town-centre is just a short walk away. Ideal!
The breakfast is really lavish and a highlight. The rooms are superb with balconies overlooking mountains.
The staff is professional and very helpful.

This hotel is very close to Chamonix Mont Blanc station. The hotel was beautiful. The room had a spectacular view of the mountains. Staff was friendly. Would strongly recommend this hotel for a short or long stay, particularly for those who arrive and leave by train.

Love at first sight. Mercure is just so lovely to look at. The location superb. Just a minute walk from the chamonix-mont blanc train station. The hotel is between aiguille du midi and montenvers mer de glace. You can have a quick break in between your adventures. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine too. The room is neat and cozy.

A very well located hotel with some rooms having excellent views of Mont Blanc. Much used by Tour Groups ( of which I was one from the UK) of all nationalities- especially from Asia. As a result overcrowding at breakfast-time is very common. The tables are just too close to each other and there are insufficient staff at times in the dining room. The noise from the station is negligible.
Overall, the rooms are very well appointed with a bath and a balcony ( in most cases). However you should note that there is no a/c in the rooms ( at any rate not the one we had) which can make Summer visits a bit warm overnight.

Room tip: Get one in the old main building facing the alps(eg 108)

Stayed for 4 nights and is in a good location near to centre of town but in a quiet location - no noise from train station nearby. We had a family room as had teenagers - clever layout meant separate section for parents and kids had separate proper single beds.
All fairly functional with a few quibbles over getting 4 mugs / dodgy shower head holder that wasn't fixed after reporting and there's no fridge which was a pain in hot weather. We avoided breakfast as could get cheaper in town.
Public car park next to hotel is half the price of hotel car park so only pay the extra if there's loads of snow forecast.
