Hotel Vertigo - Vieux Port
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 22 January 2017

It is safe, the staff is friendly and the place in clean. You have locker, 2 plugs in near your bed. The public space of the hostel is pretty nice, in both blocks.
The location is superb and probably the biggest selling point of this hostel, you can walk to the basilica on hill very easily. 3-5 mins to Vieux Port. Proximate to supermarkets and cafes.

Though breakfast is included don't expect too much, they provide drinks, cereal and bread only, no ham or egg. And the big problem is there is no heating in the room, really freezing at night during my stay in January.

Room Tip: Don't expect great view. You can only expect street view but it is not noisy at all.

Hi,
Sorry you were cold, you should have come to tell us though. Of COURSE we have heaters in the room and we can choose a temperature for every single room. If you don't let us know, we cannot do anything about it. We also have 24h reception, so even in the middle of the night, we could have done someething about it.
Regards,

The Hostel was not far from the "city" but you had to walk for a couple of minutes to Get There. If you like hookah, there is a hookah bar literally 5 feet away. Hard rock café just a 2 minute walk. The Hostel was a OK place to be. The room we had seemed to be a little old, but apart from that, i enjoyed the stay. Basic beds and breakfast

I will start off by saying that the breakfast has very limited options and the walls are pretty thin so you can hear just about anything said over a normal speaking volume. Bathrooms ad shower were really clean and nice though. The staff here were super cool and nice! Had a fun 30 minute conversation with one of the receptionists. The location is also really nice, only about a 5 minute walk to the Old Port. WiFi in all the rooms too which was nice.

It was an okay hotel. Was not a big fan of the fact that I had to walk downstairs with a bad leg just to use the bathroom. Yes it is a good way to avoid noise, but it is not good for someone with an injured leg.

The place is in the center of all the must see in Marseille... Just about five minute walk from vieux port metro, slightly hidden so it's great to do a research and ask. My reminder is the Hard Rock Cafe and go up the stairs from there and a little walk to the left. Very affordable and comfy room even when shared, there's 4 of us but it's spacious. And the good thing is they make you use the kitchen and even store food in the fridge just be responsible enough to take care and wash after. They also provide schedules for free tours... I had so much fun...
