Rooms are tiny, there was one with a really "squeezed in" bathroom, but whenever I return to Sophia Antipolis, this small hotel is my favorite choice.
The location is lovely, there are good restaurants next door and just across the square in a side street you will find the best croissants you can ask for!

Have been to Valbonne a few times but first time at this little quaint hotel.

The room was clean and had everything needed for a business trip.

The staff were very friendly and helpful especially as we didn’t check in until around 11 pm.

The continental breakfast was very good as was the espresso.

The location is great, right on the main square in Valbonne where the atmosphere is buzzing in the evening.

In summary a great little quaint hotel and I will 100% stay there again.

Magnificent place, the GO team (and especially the GC team!) is top notch. All activities are well organized: the walk (with Valentine) is varied and always beautiful; the fitness with Johanna is tough but very well explained; the circus (flying trapeze, trampoline, ... with Jason, Miles, Ludo, Fanfan, Romain, ...) is wonderful !

Club Med is always the best vacation possible, and Opio is one of the best clubs we've been to.

I travel to this area for business and sometimes for pleasure and this hotel in this village is my favorite place to base myself. It is close to business (in Sophia Antipolis), but in a town with some good restaurants, pubs. Lacking famous tourist attractions (but having all the charm of other moutain villages!), its mostly locals and ex-pats. There are some business travelers and tourists in the mix, but they are few. So you do not feel like you are in the tourist trap.

The hotel itself is right in the middle of it - but don't be concerned about the noise. The windows, when closed, filter it all out. It offers all the amenities that you need (comfy bed, bath, a/c and breakfast) and a friendly staff - especially Richard, the owner. It has also been recently updated, so while it may have had a bit of a run down feel a few years back, it no longer does. If you can, go for the mid-grade or larger rooms. Some of the lowest-cost rooms are known to be on the small side.

Finally - because it is in the middle of the pedestrian area, you will need to carry your luggage from your car a few blocks.

Les Armories is a fabulous choice to explore the region around Valbonne and the medieval villages above the Cote d'Azure. This charming hotel is beautifully located in the center of the gorgeous village of Valbonne overlooking the town square.

Owners Richard and Lena Schultz have a real gem of a property, meticulously take care of their customers, and are as charming as the hotel itself. Rooms are wonderful, especially the corner room on the 2nd floor, with floor to ceiling French doors and panoramic views of the town square.

Exceptionally affordable, it is a great value for the money. The hotel building, like Valbonne, is 500 years old, but rooms are beautifully furnished with sumptuous Italian bedding and antique armoires.

It is the perfect place to explore the nearby medieval villages of Tourettes sur Loop, Gourgon, Mougins and St Paul de Vence. Valbonne itself is wonderful, a lovely compact medieval village laid out in a grid pattern, far less touristy and much more genuine than, say, Mougins and St Paul de Vence, with a great mix of locals and visitors, authentic shops and tons of little restaurants, and a total lack of pretentious art galleries.

Speaking of restaurants, the awesome Michelin starred restaurant Lou Cigalon Maison Martin is at the top of the village, walking distance from Les Armories, the fabulous Michelin starred restaurant Le Clos St. Pierre is just up the road in Le Rouret, while the two star Michelin restaurant La Villa Archange Bruno Over is just down the road in Le Cannet.

All in all Les Armories is a fabulous home base to look for the genuine flavor of the south of France, and we will be happy to return again and again (or buy a room in the hotel if they ever go condo). A wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Room tip: Corner rooms are the best, but all 16 rooms fit the bill.
