We booked this hotel for five nights last week in May with British Airways Holidays. Due to the BA IT disaster on the last week end of May we had to stay another night and the hotel was most accommodating in letting us have our room for an additional night. Personally, we have only praise for this small hotel. It is barely five minutes' walk from the main station and airport bus stop, but its surrounds are quiet. Previous reviewers bemoaned the presence of fast food outlets nearby but these and their clientele did neither create undue noise in the evening nor made they feel the area less secure. Public transport like the tram and local buses are easily reached from the hotel.
We also would like to praise the staff, day and night, and during breakfast, who were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was ample and varied. The room, though somewhat small, was most adequate, very clean with a very comfortable king size bed. The hotel is inside a historical building so rooms will not be the same size as in a newly built one. Sound proofing was excellent. The air-conditioning worked perfectly. So yes - we would happily stay at this hotel again.More
