I have been to Europe ( Swiss/Austria) earlier but would like to dedicate a line to most French places excepting the really large hotel chains.( Even there frankly they tend to look down upon Asians as if they have descended directly from the heavens). They are a boutique hotel with just 6-8 rooms ,mostly converted out of a traditional villa. While the villa itself and location are good ,the hospitality was a little let down. Let's get down to the works:

Location: it's bang on promenade (which is the main location in Nice) but a little inside. It does have a view of the Bach but only in rooms 4 & 5 on the first floor. It's very close to the bus stop and the main city center. You can cross over to the beach right across the hotel.

TIP: they do not have a full fledged B&B. I did see a coffee machine at the entrance and a seating area in the compound but nothing beyond that.

Property/Room : the rooms very large and decently appointed but not all rooms had big bathrooms. Some were very small and dingy. Also the toiletries they offered (Shampoo and soap ) were of very poor quality. You can actually break the soap into powder ..that cheap!

TIP: they do not allow smoking inside the premise. Also they shut the main door at 10pm and you have to use backdoor entrance to enter the premise for some weird reason! Your room key has the security code and key to enter the premise. So if u stay here don't forget to take the key. There will be no one to attend to or hear you if u land up post 10pm and forget the key. Remember Ur school days;-) when you have to sneak in!!

Service : the owners run the show. There there three people ,two men and one woman. The man sitting in the mrng is quite gentle and also speaks bit of English. I would go further to say he is polite and helpful. The woman and the one who sits later in the day are quite rude. They make faces the moment you enter and almost look down upon on Asians! They earned us twice to make less noise (we had kids with us for God's sake) and reprimanded us coupe of times. I understand we have to adhere to their culture but come on... We are customers!! Shud have been more polite and accommodative . He had to come to have fun not a boarding school!

Price : cost us about INR 5-6K per night i.e. €80-100 per night without breakfast. Price wise not bad.

Overall hospitalities were bit low. I would recommend that you pay a bit more and go to a proper hotel. There are other budget hotels also in similar or slightly higher ranges. We booked thru booking.com but TripAdvisor will also throw up decent options.

Not the best place to stay!
Bathroom was so tiny you couldn't move in the shower, lack of water probably due to someone showering in the bathroom next door.
Hotel office manager friendly.
Very close to beach - across the street.
Walking distance to restaurants and shops about 15-20 min walk
Bus close by.

We stayed for 4 nights to visit the Monaco GP, was set just back from main road and was quiet. Staff on reception friendly, room was adequate, bathroom was small knees touched the wall when sitting on the loo, towels changed daily but they were small and very rough on your ski, beds made which was nice to come back too, we only really used the room for sleeping and showering. Only TV and air con in room but it was clean if a little dated. Asked to borrow an iron which was provided with no problem but has to use a table as an ironing board. 2 min walk to the beach but the beach is just like rubble with a skim of grease on the sea surface horrible. Breakfast was basic for 8 Euros each, parking was provided at the rear for 8 Euros a night or free overnight, parking restrictions from 9am. Overall ok for a cheapish hotel.

Room Tip: Bring your own towels they were smooth and rough

the bathroom is horrible, very small and very old, and it closes only with a plastic folding curtain. The WC is just front to the head of the bed just separated thanks to this folding curtain. the window of the bathroom doesn't close and the other window is very old too, no isolation so that it was very cold and Noisy.
The receptionist do his best to welcome you but that is overpassed by the outdated equipements.
and the housekeeper press you to leave at 9:45 on the morning , when you ask if you can take the breakfast!

Room Tip: avoid the rooms with 3 beds

Somehow search didnt pick other reasonably priced family-friendly hotels in Promenade de Anglais, so ended up staying here for 5 days and nights. Wouldnt recommend to anyone taking family. They fail to provide even the basics in the room, such as a kettle and hair-dryer. Felt a bit awkward as most of the time front-desk was operated by only-French speaking staff. Could have picked a better one for the money.
