We had a wonderful stay at hotel Belles Rives, a charming hotel right on the waterfront with a lovely promenade area and terrace. And their staff is very friendly and extremely professional.
Congratulations to the Chefs of their Michelin starred restaurant, La Passagere, which is excellent.

The property has all the charm that you would hope for in a small luxury hotel and in fact, the staff add to charm. The staff was on hand to greet guests and in fact were available even later in the evening when returning from Cannes to assist with the old fashined elevator. The bar should not be missed and if you want to feel like you are not in a cookie cutter property , and feel the influence of another former guest F Scott Fitzgerald, visit the Hotel Belles Rives.

We stayed at this hotel last night and were not impressed. We booked a panoramic room which was discounted but still ridiculously expensive. Our first disappointment was the fact there was no terrace only a couple of tiny balconies with a wall so low you could easily fall over it. The room was much smaller than the photographs implied on their site. Our other complaint was the noise - we could hear guests in the room above walking around, the toilet flushing, water being run, doors being opened and closed etc... The bathroom - water did not drain from the tiny bath and the shower attachment was very outdated. No extraction so had to open window and toilet too close to glass shower door. All in all a big disappointment knowing that we could have had a huge suite at the close by Royal Hotel which is fantastic. We would never stay here again - overpriced and in drastic need of modernisation and past its day. The positive - the staff were very friendly.

Dear Guest,

First of all we would like to thank you for your email as well as for your recent stay.
We are sorry to read that your time with us did not match your expectations. We have read your words carefully and would like to answer to some points:

- You were allocated the best panoramic room we have and, as you say, you got a very preferential last-minute rate. This room is enormously appreciated and very demanded by our guests, that book it year after year. As an experienced Tripadvisor Member, you might have known that the Belles Rives is a historical building with all the charm that these “Grand Ladies” bring with them. The rooms are not as big as in modern hotels but it is not our usual habit to make comparisons as tastes are quite personal and, to be honest, we prefer our hotel more than high-tech ones;

- We have well noted the several technical issues in your room and we have immediately informed our housekeeping and maintenance departments in order to have them solved; we are sorry to read this after your departure as nothing was told to the front desk during your stay;

- We thank you about the compliments on the staff. They have well been forwarded to them and everyone was very proud.

We hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back and, meanwhile, we remain.

Yours Sincerely,

The Management

The hotel has a wonderful location with a with a well preserved patina of a valued past, a superbly discrete and impeccable staff, and embraces its handsome waterfront with great style. We were greatly pleased by its atmosphere of padded calm. What more could one ask?

Dear Guest,

your review was a ray of sun in this rainy autumn day! Thank you!

We are delighted to read that you could enjoy the Belles Rives with its unique charm and atmosphere. It is true that in the low season the ambience is very relaxed and calm.

The compliments about the staff make us particularly proud as a friendly and stylish welcome is at the base of our hospitality philosophy since 1929.

We look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

Yours Sincerely,

The Management
