We walked there from our Viking ship so it was very convenient, only a few cobblestones for our roll bags to bump along. The hotel is on a little side street so you need GPS to actually locate it(no big flashing sign). We got there before check-in at 3 so they stored our luggage and placed it in our room. They were kind enough to give us a lower floor so we didn't have to navigate the very steep, narrow steps. The owner was extremely nice and helped with guiding us to restaurants that were nearby. The hotel was close to everything inside the wall and that made it easy to see the old town and not get too lost. The room was fairly large with a king bed, chair and desk and a bathroom and separate toilet room. The breakfast included meats, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, jams, juice and yummy breads and croissants.

We stayed for one night and the room was clean.
This was our first visit to Avignon. Public parking is required
and is some distance from this hotel. The detailed route had been given by the hotelier.
However, leaving the underground car park we found ourselves in the large square outside the Palais des Popes. Tired and disorientated we still managed to get lost
on the way to the hotel.

my husband and I travel alot, so when I say this is a great hotel, it really is!! This hole is in easy walking distance from the city center train station. We stay at this hotel twice, once for 2 nights after arriving on the train from Paris and liked it so much, we booked it again for the night before leaving on the train back to Paris. The husband and wife team that run this small hotel, which is ideally located in old city of Avignon, are fabulous. They are very helpful, give great advise, and easy to work with and so helpful if you had any problems or questions. We had a few questions about our rental car that we did not pick up on time, and they jumped on the phone for us to work the situation out. that was especially nice for us, as our french is limited. The wife bakes amazing cakes that are served at breakfast and their coffee is excellent. We loved the room we stayed in, but enjoyed the wonderful, friendly atmosphere the proprietors have created in this small hotel even more.

Room Tip: The proprietors were very helpful to us giving us info about the rooms, location and if the room we picked would be noisy or not....

The hotel has a convenient location in the heart of Avignon's historic centre, just a short stroll from the Place de l'Horloge and walking distance from Avignon Centre station. Our room was on the small side, with a quirky layout. It was clean and comfortable, if basically and traditionally furnished. However, what made the hotel stand out was the exceptionally friendly and helpful service from our hosts. Other hoteliers should book themselves a night here to see how it is done. Home made goodies made breakfast a little more interesting than usual. In summary, it is a unique experience and a world away from those competent but bland corporate hotels. Reasonable value for money.

Small hotel, family owned with very comfortable rooms. Our room was actually on the main floor (11) as the steps are very steep and circular. Breakfast was the usual European selections and very good, her son does the baking, croissants were wonderful. Excellent restaurants close by and in the middle if a beautiful city and no traffic, we walked there from our ship. Definitely stay there again. This is not a resort and it has been a hotel for nearly 200 years, Yes it does have heat and A/C but no elevator.

Room Tip: 2 rooms on ground floor. Narrow stairs, no elevator but they had placed our luggage in the room. All rooms very quiet and private.
