We got this hotel because of its location , stayed there for 5 mights using Avignon as a base to travel in Provence and that was great. Breakfast had variety of jams, some crepe, lots of diff pastries choices, cheese, eggs you can boil yourself or scrambled eggs (scrambled I didn't like too much, but if you boil yourself - they very tasty), ham, sausage, lots of sweet, nice touch was with freshly squeezed orange juice. now few points that might be problematic -one of them - parking. From one side it's great - you park your car in center location, hotel gives you 20% discount from parking ticket (you need to validate every time you get new ticket when park), so when you don't have your suit cases - it's great. But at least twice - when you park and need to check in and when you need to check out - you have to carry your suit cases. The ground surface is not smooth, you can't roll your suit cases on the ground , it has rocks/stones - so if they heavy - you need to be aware of it. Another interesting fact with parking is that even hotel employes can't explain you how to get to/from parking in the shortest way to your hotel. Keep in mind there are two Mercury hotels sharing the same parking spot , so if you staying in Mercury Papas Palaise - you have to park on first floor (minus one level) and exit from orange exit for Mercury Palais hotel and not the other Mercury hotel. As many mentioned air conditioning is not the strong suit of this hotel and it's a small problem. We stayed there in Sep and kept the window opened, but it was a little bit noisy outside with great acoustic when you can hear every little noise at night. So just be aware of it - if you prepared for that - you can sleep fairly OK. The entrance to the parking from the square is close to the restaurants across the palace/church and not easily seen if you going uphill from the hotel 0 you just see little brick wall from that angle and don't realize it's indeed an entrance with downstairs leading to the parking. We had one issue in the bath room, reported to the hotel and it was was fixed the same day - so that was positive. Overall that's the reason I'm giving four stars to this hotel.

Ideally situated for an overnight stay or few days in this wonderful old town. Near to some great restaurants and casual bars in the square. Good shopping is close bye. Hotel reception staff were helpful. Our good size room overlooked the square and countryside.

Great position. Near everything. Smallish room. 40 channels on tv but no English at all. Wifi but slow. Breakfast ok. No phone in my room. Cramped breakfast room. Small lobby that soon fills up. All the staff speak English well.

Yes, the location of this property was great. All the rooms on a floor have various sizes. Breakfast was good. Various choices. Front desk was helpful. We were off a river cruise and walked here from the pier. The next morning the hotel arranged a taxi to take us to the TGV where we went to Nice. English was spoken everywhere we went in Avignon. Much better than Nice!
