“Charming Apartment in Old Town Arle - if only it had air conditioning”
Reviewed 29 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

A charming apartment in a great location in Old a Town Arles, with a great layout and heaps of space.
On arrival Estelle welcomed us and gave us the run down on everything the apartment had to offer, including washing machine, enormous fridge, dishwasher and a lift. The latter being very useful for getting the suitcases to the upper floors ( the narrow stairs commented on by a previous guest).
The only thing missing was an air conditioner. This unfortunately ended up being a major omission as the temperature during our stay ranged (on average) from 24c at night to 37c during the day.
Having said that, we were saved by the pool, solely for our use this was the ideal place to end the day, or even indulge in a mid day/night swim to cool off.
All of Arles' sites are only a 5-10 minute walk away making this the perfect base to explore this wonderful town.
We will certainly recommend the apartment to all our friends, maybe not during summer however.

“Beautiful location but not for the elderly, infirm or very young.”
Reviewed 11 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This is a lovely, quirky, spacious and very central rental in the heart of the beautiful old town. It has a rare private pool in the sheltered courtyard and is very well equipped, a well thought out kitchen and the luxury of a washing machine and tumble drier, but no air conditioning.
It is on four floors with a lift to the kitchen and dining room and the bathroom and to the bathroom and sitting room above.
The bedroom is at the very top, with no lift, up 15 steep steps on a spiral staircase which has one completely open side with no bannister rail. It looks romantic but is not suitable for anyone with difficulties in walking or small children, or sleepwalkers!
The owner is charming and we enjoyed our stay, except for that staircase.

“I had to tear myself away”
Reviewed 11 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

A charming host, Estelle is cllearly a highly talented interior decorator & evidence of her taste & style was throughout La Maison Bleue where I had the pleasure of spending 5 days. Perfectly situated amidst a labyrinth of ancient lanes with fascinating historical sites & buildings it was an easy stroll into the centre of Arles.

I could easily have stayed longer in this home.
