The Grand Hôtel Nord-Pinus is located right in the center of the old Arles, which makes it easy to reach most interesting places on foot, but very tricky to get there by car: Arles roads can be very narrow and crowded. Parking in front of the hotel is impossible, even loading and unloading is difficult, but the hotel offers a valet service to its nearby garage.
The whole hotel is a beautiful bullfighter memorial - every wall is decorated with paintings, photos or posters. The only thing that didn't feel ancient was the large bathroom, and we were quite happy about that.
Attached to the hotel was a Greek (!) restaurant where we ate only once (there are plenty of provencal alternatives nearby but you have to avoid the tourist traps), but it served a good, opulent French breakfast.
Not exactly cheap, but with flair and charm and perfectly located.More
