One night visit for the Aix Festival. The hotel is perfectly located, though the entrance is oddly on the first floor of a palais of sorts. Heavily carpeted and dark, the entrance and public areas are uninspiring and depressing without any windows. The room was nice and bright (we had a room called "Eau") with tiled floors, with a great terrace overlooking the Cour Mirabeau.

The design is oddly modern and not well thought out, with open shower and bathroom (separate toilet). Though not my taste, the room was good, with quality bedding, and it was clean.

What was disappointing was the management's reaction to our noise complaint. There was public works directly outside our balcony, with drilling and street work from 1am to 6am. The hotel was well aware of this scheduled public work and did not give us advance warning, though they had many opportunities to do so. Our complaint was dismissed with a we-upgraded-your-room-you-should-appreciate-that shirty attitude, and that was that. Four star hotels should do better than that.

This hotel is a great location right in the heart of Aix but be prepared that there are consequences that come with being in the centre of the old town. First is the parking if you want to park at the hotel you must reserve in advance and it is 19 euro's a day most of the summer the main street cours Mirabeau is blocked off so the police have to let you in and then they have to put down the barriers that go into the tiny side street to get into the parking if you are off season this is ok but very challenging during summer moths the other parking is several blocks a day in a public but safe garage for the same price for 24 hours. Then there is the noise if you are on the back side of the hotel you are better off but there is no view if you are on front side try to get at least the third floor so you wont be bothered by the street noise which goes till at least 11 pm on weekends. If you buy breakfast from the hotel it is 7.5 euros if you get it when you book through a site like expedia they charge you double same with the parking if you book through their site it is half so you are basically penalized for using a third party booking process.
Now there are some good things while the rooms are on the small side they have been redone and are very nice inside. You are right in front of an amazing market and shopping which is great so there are some benefits from going there... hotel staff was ok and not too helpful just not that interested. Overall we probably would look for a different spot there unless we could book direct and off season when we could access parking etc.

Room Tip: stay away from the elevator so rooms 209 308 are right next to elevator

The hotel is right in the heart of Aix en Provence and an easy walk to everything you need to see. The room was large and well fitted out, very modern and arty. The staff were helpful and polite and happy to show you where and what to do in this great French town.

Room Tip: Check out the web page as all rooms have different fittings.

Excellent hotel with great service. The rooms are all different and since it is a small hotel the service is friendly. Sadly my trip was cut short and I had to cancel my last night because of a change of time of my flight. They staff were great and did not charge me, very rare. Totally recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights during a short stop in Aix-en-Provence. We stayed in the "Mirabeau" room. The room had a funky-modern decor which we liked. The ceilings were really high and the windows were really large and opened so we looked directly down at the Cours Mirabeau. Everything was new and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a large walk in shower. Marc (manager?) was really friendly and helped us choose restaurants for the two nights we were there. Obviously the location is great and there was an ATM right across from the hotel which was nice too. We chose this hotel over some "better known" hotels and were very pleased with our decision. You cannot beat the location.

Room Tip: The "Mirabeau" room was quiet and had a great view of the Cours Mirabeau
