For car parking you must take into account 20euros more per day. Room was normal big. Not really clean, toilette was partially broken, shower was really tiny and if you get a window to main street...it is going to be loud. For just one night driving through it is ok. One of the cheapest hostels in Aix en Provence and just 5min far away from city center.

For such a low price, I hadn't expected such comfort. Spotlessly clean, situated in beautiful old Aix, view of ancient cathedral and hotel garden, fast free wifi in bedroom, M le Patron upgraded our room to a big quiet room with a lovely double bed each at no extra cost (just because the room was available, I think), the extra blankets I'd asked for were waiting in the room for me, towels changed daily, new soaps and shampoos daily, two power points in addition to lovely new TV, lots of cupboard space, good shower and loo, wonderful to step out into old town, (I felt sorry for people in expensive hotels in concrete jungles further out). friendly proprietors and chambermaids. A pleasant walk from hotel through old streets to bus station to get shuttle to airport. I recommend highly. So comfortable in every way. Excellent mattresses gave us excellent sleeps. No horrible virus-giving air con, just lovely warm hotel with windows opening to let in fresh air of Aix.

Room tip: I loved our room with its view of the garden, a memorial and the ancient cathedral.

This is a clean, no-frills hotel in a great location. You can easily walk downtown. The interior is dated. We stayed in a quad (family) room with a double bed and two twin beds. The room was small and the shower was tiny, but the beds were comfortable. I didn't think the breakfast was worth 5 euros, but it is a traditional hotel breakfast: bread, croissant, tea. The wifi was fine. The proprietor was happy to lend me a hair dryer but there is not an outlet in the bathroom. My credit card was accepted. I would recommend this hotel to the budget-conscious traveler.

This is a one star hotel with a great location! The price for what you get at hotel Paul is very good value! You get a very basic room, towels changed every other day, a quaint little garden to relax in during a break in the day, and courteous desk service. We read about other reviews that were unhappy about the service, but we found the owners to be accommodating. We would stay at Hotel Paul again, because it has everything you need while travelling. The location is right next to a neighborhood, but also near a non traffic street, with grocery stores, several bakeries, and beautiful squares in which to relax for a coffee or drink. The daily market in the square is excellent! For the budget conscious traveler, this is a great find! Breakfast is available at 5 euros each, but we chose to have breakfast in the nearby cafes.

Room tip: Try to get a room off the main street.

I really liked this hotel. Aix has the best food market; we would buy fantastic fruits, cheeses, breads, tapanades, etc. and eat lunch or dinner in the beautiful garden, breakfast was lovely there too. Wifi was free and worked well, we stored our luggage with no problem, paid with credit card, no problem. There were no twin beds left in Aix so we took the 3 bed room which were two attached rooms and gave us lots of room to spread out. Very comfortable. It cost the same as a twin would have. I did not understand the 1 star rating. You are at the gate of the city, 5 min walk to the cathedral, and the rest of the city is there. Also Chagall's Atelier is a 12 minute walk. Many buses stop in front of the hotel, as does the minibus. Grocery, bakery , bank nearby at corner? You must call if you check in after 8 pm. I do not get some of the negative reviews listed here.

Room tip: Triple room comfy.
