The location is perfect and the hotel itself a very pretty French boutique hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with lovely bathrooms including a fabulous deep bath. The only disappointment was that the Deluxe Double Room is advertised as having a patio which it does not. However would definately stay here again as it has such a lovely feel and the staff, especially Alex, were very helpful.

What can I say. Lovely, enormous room. There seemed to be 2 blocks for the rooms. One block behind the restaurant and another just above the restaurant. The rooms were very elegant and beautiful and the slight shabbiness just added to their charm. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Aircon was great in the heatwave! Lovely breakfast in the restaurant which set us up for the day. Would definitely recommend.

A bit odd to go through the restaurant to the hotel. Although a little faded, it was an excellent place to stay and good value for money. Very pleasant, helpful and friendly service. I was upgraded to a suite which had a view of the Cours. Bathroom had a jacuzzi and a hamman shower. Very clean room. Would recommend.

It might depend on whether you are a glass half full or glass half empty kind of person, but the fact that this hotel was a bit timeworn was, for us, a part of its charm. And for fans of a certain classic 1980s British comedy, be sure to check the wardrobe for airmen.

Its actually a really charming place, and the location could not be better; opening the balcony doors in the morning to the cours Mirabeau below, with all the sounds and smells of the market, really is one of those unique holiday experiences you will never forget. In fact, the room alone (I think ours was No 5. Paul Cezanne) is worth 5 out of 5. Another room might very will be a (still excellent) 4.

Aix is a fantastic place, and has a vibrancy and soul about it almost 24 hours a day. It took us a week actually to fully explore it.

One final thing, get yourself down to the tourist centre by the main fountain. They speak very good English, and can advise you on some really amazing places to visit (I recommend the Luberon wine trip taking in the lavender fields).

Room Tip: One overlooking the Cours Mirabeau.

Decided to come back to this hotel given its outstanding location in Aix. However, after these years, found the hotel a bit run down and in need of some upgrade to common áreas and room. Also, found room noisy, as we faced the street and market preparations started pretty early in the morning. Street was closed to traffic when we checked out as it was a market day, so we walked to the garage with a staff member and our luggage to get our car. Staff was polite and helped with luggage, important consideration given that hotel has no elevator. Restaurant was convenient and a good option for dinner and breakfast.
