Just returned from a lovely stay here. Gite was clean and well equipped and the owner was always on hand to answer any questions. Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone.

“A comfortable, peaceful gite with friendly helpful hosts”
Reviewed 23 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Gill and Tony have provided a well equipped, very comfortable holiday home in a lovely peaceful part of the Loire area. We felt instantly at home and nothing was too much trouble for Gill. She provided lots of information as needed, and fresh eggs from her hens. The cottage is really well placed for visiting towns and chateaus in the area and provides a welcome space to return .after a busy day, so good to enjoy a glass of wine in the courtyard, listen to the birds and enjoy the countryside. There is a good supermarket and boulangerie in the village, all in all a perfect holiday rental.

“Great gite in a lovely peaceful setting”
Reviewed 25 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We've really enjoyed our stay at this lovely gite. Everything we could have needed was supplied and it was spotlessly clean and well presented. The owners Gillian and Tony were great hosts - friendly and unobtrusive but available if we needed anything, and they left a generous and well thought out welcome pack including a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit and a lovely local wine, plus bread, milk and homemade marmalade.

The bedrooms were very spacious with comfortable beds and sofas to relax on. Downstairs is a kitchen/lounge/dining area spacious enough for all of us to be together without getting under each other's feet, and a decent sized shower room.

There was lots of space for our two boys (9 and 3) to run around outside, and they loved having the animals around - especially Roly, who was always ready and willing to have his tummy tickled! (Though Gillian was at pains to ensure we were comfortable with the animals as they could keep them out of our way if we had preferred this).

Location-wise it was a fifteen minute bike ride to the boulangerie in the village (get there early for the pastries!), and an extra two to the well stocked supermarket. Saumur is a half an hour drive, and there is a decent selection of eateries and things to do there. We enjoyed kayaking (from the island in the middle of the Loire at Saumur, where there is also a little man-made 'beach' - great for the little ones too young for the kayaking); cycling along the 'Loire à Vèlo' route; visiting the castle (though in our opinion Montsoreau and Brèzè chateaux had more to see - especially Brèzè with it's underground labyrinths, and the Musée des Blindes had an impressively large collection of tanks, including a small collection for the kids to climb into - good for a wet afternoon.
