Because of roadworks this was difficult to reach by car but it’s a little gem. We were greeted warmly and given a lovely large room with a sofa and desk as well as a large comfortable bed. It’s in a very central position. There was no air conditioning but the windows opened so that was OK. We were told we could help ourselves to coffee anytime in the small breakfast area, and made to feel very welcome.

We stayed here for 5 night and had a room on the 3rd floor. The hotel does not have a lift so if you are not up to climbing stairs, this is not the place to stay. The room although small was roomy enough, it was clean, fresh and comfortable and the bed was excellent. It also has great Wi-Fi, offers free tea and coffee and a continental breakfast for an additional fee. It was central to all of the major attractions in Caen, making it an easy walk to all. The only time we used a bus was to go to the Memorial de Caen. The owners were great hosts, accommodating and very helpful with all of our inquiries. Would highly recommend and happily stay again.

We felt fussed over literally from when we walked in the door, as the owner offered to carry our heaviest bag upstairs and showed us in. He also offered us an early breakfast on a day we had an early train and arranged transport to the train station too. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Bottles of water were provided too. Breakfast was really tasty - croissants, baguette, ham, cheese, cereal, homemade yogurt (to die for) and cake, preserves, local apple juice, all kinds of good options. It was unusually hot during our visit, which necessitated keeping our window open at night, and the birds were really noisy. Not a complaint, as the weather and the birds are beyond their control; but it did impact our sleep. There's even a small gift shop with some souvenirs. We'd stay there again!

First night of our trip, an overnight rest stop. Although we found the hotel easily enough the parking was on street and only by luck did we get a spot as someone left. One needs to call for the front door to be opened and two flights of steep stone steps up to the reception did little to allay fears that my husband and myself would be able to access the building (we have mobility issues). However the owner made up for the initial concerns. Helpful and charming he carried bags, provided drinks and was most reassuring. Our room was small but more than adequate and our shower room was wonderful. Everything was beautifully clean and fresh After a great night sleep breakfast was plentiful and excellent. Wheelchair users would struggle here.

Room tip: Not sure that disabled guests would find access easy. No lift. Steep steps.

This hotel is run by a delightful couple who live in situ with their baby. Matthieu and Zoe. The couple are sooooo helpful! They cannot do enough for you. Even carry your luggage to your room. Zoe even carried my helmet back to our bike for me.
The room itself was immaculate , possibly the cleanest and comfiest hotel bed ive slept in.
The breakfast was great and the coffee machine superb!
Even though we were leaving Matthieu marked up maps for our trip next day giving us lots of useful tips and info.
We will definitely be back as this delightful city warrants a long weekend to explore.

Room tip: The only reason for noise was roadworks outside and had to have windows open as it was so hot.
